| we get saints and wire get, salford (with no disrespect to salford, but come on)? It takes the plays straight into their wires hands, it'll be just after christmas/new year, when no one has any money or time off work left and it'll be freezing. Then there's the the rugby union and football season to think about with regards to the ground and people who enjoy both football and rugby staying at home if their team has a home fixture that weekend.
Bad idea and I'm with most scrap the idea altogether.

| If this rumour is true at least it will finally end the slow death it's been enduring. Bad idea executed badly.

| I went to Edinburgh for the first time this year - to be honest I only went because we were doing well in the league. I don't see the point of this fiasco. I won't be going again.

| If Bilkos rumour turns out to be true (he is rarely wrong) I feel this could spell disaster for this fixture, cold Feb in Wales is not so appealling IMO.

| never been to a magic weekend, I'm just not a fan of the concept and this latest daft idea has done nothing to change my mind. Dragging 25,000 from the heartlands to a 3/4 empty stadium for the benefit of a couple of hundred disinterested locals is a farce. Not to mention the unfairness of the "derby" system.

| Quote: inside_man "Get rid of it.
Use that weekend for an international fixture rather than having a mid-week match, or bring back Yorkshire/Lancs with a France/Wales/Scotland match as a double header.
It just does the integrity of the competition no good at all, Wire got Salford this year, we got Hudds, that extra fixture could make a big difference.
Why not make a big spectacle of an England or County game rather than throwing in a useless extra fixture.'"
I'de agree with that. Something just for our country, make a good day of English Rugby League.

| I dont really agree with the idea of playing in cardiff in the cold. But, i will be there regardless of where and when its played, ill be there supporting my team. Because isn't that what its about?. Going supporting your team wherever and whenever.

| Don t like the idea of the magic weekend but thinking if the Rfl went back to derbies the obvious would be wigan saints and warrington would be left with salford, in my mind not fare but was just thinking if anyone had the relative distance betwen the grounds and perhaps we could push for a Warrington Saints game and we play salford. It would be interesting if this happend how many wire fans suddenly found the magic weekend being derby draws a good idea.

| If they make it a derbies weekend, then it ought to effectively be one of the regular 26 rounds, and scrap the 27th game. Evens up the fixtures so nobody gets a "free & easy" game, leaves an extra weekend for a meaningful warmup game for the internationals (whether that be roses game, SL v overseas or whatever). Everyone's a winner then (apart from us freezing our nuts off in Feb!)
