I'll be driving over, only drove to Sheffield once before and used the sat-nav, I was going to the Marriott there which I think is pretty close to hillsborough and the sat nav sent me over the woodhead (I think - may have been snake) Either way I will just put The ground in the sat nav and set off early, probably just park in a multi storey closeish to the ground. Any advice on which carpark would be best would be appreciated


I will take the lead for the sat nav this time as battery ran out as I parked on the Marriott carpark last time so I had to just wing it on the way back!! I'm a confident driver ish but hopeless with directions!

Im not brilliant on car parking in the city centre, theres one on Shoreham Street behind the BBC Radio Sheffield building thats pretty close but theres plenty signposted on all the main roads into the city. Avoid street parking if you can, like ive said before, theres permit schemes in place and its close the the Manor, which is like a demilitarised zone.

Cheers Dr Badvibes, just been looking on google maps and there looks to be quite a big one close to the train station on Turner street (very close to shoreham street near showroom cinema?). When I get close to the ground I can just press a button on my satnav that will head me to the nearest carparking so I will prob just do that, Thanks for your help. Looking forward to it

That's the train station car park I think. You should be fine in there but be wary of the city centre bus/tram lanes on you way in and out. The city council here thrive on catching out unsuspecting visitors.

park for free at meadowhall then just hop on a tram to the centre 10-12 minute journey

We're going for the Meadowhall option as Sheffield is a nightmare to drive around. J34 M1 and tram into city around £3.50 for a day rider.

You can't miss it, looks like a great big cheese grater and is smack bang in the city centre. Will take about 10-15 minutes to walk to the ground from there, pretty easy straight down one road. Also there is a brilliant pub called The Roebuck right next to the car park and it's near all the shops in town
