Having just seen it properly for the first time lets hope the ban is long enough to end his season, as I've said on a few occasions I wouldn't have him anywhere near big games this season. Today was an accident waiting to happen.
If Hock is our replacement for Coley we've got big problems as they are very different types of props. Coley is all about hard work and laying the platform for others, Hock is very much an impact type of player. Fielden will be almost like a replacement for Coley next season thankfully.

The Sad part of this from Hock and Wigans point of view is he had a cracking game against a top side. It's the first good game he's had against a big side since his return and he gave a glimpse of what he could bring long term.
Short term he's let his frustration get the better of him unlike his teamates who will save their frustrations for the next meeting against Wire. That's what good professionals do but unfortunately that's something Hock has never been. |

Rugby league does not attract shy, retiring types. It has been played by many unpredictable wildmen who intimidated through random acts of violence, and many more who inspired fear through size, speed and legitimate aggression. Manly’s Les Boyd did both. By all accounts a perfect gentleman off the field, he secured his place in league infamy during game one of the 1983 state-of-origin series, when he used his elbow to smash the jaw of Queensland prop Darryl Brohman. Three matches after returning from the resulting 12- month suspension, [size=200he was banned for 15 months for eye-gouging Canterbury hooker Billy Johnston.[/size Persona non grata in Australia, Boyd finished his career with Warrington in England, where he developed a cult following for his rare combination of extreme skill, unblinking courage and advanced thuggery.
FWIW, this is a poor, poor effort
Boyd IS/WAS idolised at Wire (the same as Meninga at Stains, Ferguson/Kenny at Wigan-all from the same era), for the first two of the three points, at the end of the lifted piece,
HOWEVER, to mention "advanced thuggery" with regards his time at Wire, is quite simply INCORRECT
In his 4 seasons for our club, we was sent of ONCE, for which, he was found NOT GUILTY.
Boyd transformed his game and career whilst with us. Yes, he played the game hard (but fair), but that's the nature of a prop's job.
(slight thread drift) You had 2 of the games modern greats (Edwards and Gregory) who also had "niggle" in their game, but nowhere to the extent of Tomkins. He NEEDS to sort this out, or, the RFL may well be forced into doing something re his actions.
FWIW I won't have any problem in not seeing Hock until next season, that was uncalled for and deserves punishing.'"
