These are stupid comments with no bearing in reality.
I doubt Wane has anything like that much power, and as others have said, Wigan wanted Deacon and Harris to stay, but as usual there was silly money on offer elsewhere.
You might not be happy with Wane's coaching - many aren't, but making up rubbish won't help anyone.

Harris didn't have many nice words for his ex-boss.
Waney hasn't had an assistant with any real clout since and surrounded himself by yes men so i'm not too sure it's far from the truth.

Care to elaborate on what Harris actually said? How do you know he's surrounded himself with yes men, are you privy to what goes on behind the scenes at the club? Or as I suspect just making sh*t up and stating it as fact to suit your agenda.

| I know someone who was involved with Harris at International level when he coached Wales. "Worst appointment they ever made" were "one" of his comments.
If he was such a good coach, where is he now?

Who cares? Wane is the issue. He's the most tactically inept coach in the whole of SL. All this talk of getting him an assistant bemuses me. Other teams don't need an assistant to not have their wingers driving the ball out from the 20m area or to have a clue what to do in the opposite 20m area. It stands out like a sore thumb we are tactically outsmarted game after game. We win games like Wakefield at home not because we play smart RL but because despite the tactics we never give up. The trouble is we have been having to do that all season due to naff tactics and are shattered.

| I agree Dave, we have a habit of winning close games because we are tough and never give up and I think Wane deserves credit for that, however as you state our lack of tactical awareness, bodies in motion and poor skills in attack means we are solely reliant on that. More often than not good teams will not give you the opportunity to come back into the game.
I was asked earlier who I was aiming my jobs for the boys comments at, to be honest the entire set up. Wane earned his shot at coaching to be fair but at the moment it isn't working out. Rads CEO? What other major brand brings someone into that role with such little background or apprenticeship? Paul Johnson Conditioner, we have gone backwards in this department since Bitcon moved upstairs. For me all those positions need reviewing, including Bitcom.
No matter what your business is you need new ideas and new ways of doing thing to freshen things up if you don't you become stale and fall behind your comp who are open to new ideas.
The Bradford demise is a great example of this. Watered down coaches from the Brian Smith era saw them become a very dated team in a very quick space of time given how successful they once were.
I'm hoping TL can have an influence next season given the fact he has been away but it shouldn't be down to him to affect the necessary change and evolution.
Talk of this Wigan Way boils my urine! It is great to have pride in your town and club and its history but you always need to explore new ways of doing things and improving rather than constantly tipping your hat to how things have been done in the past.

How do you know that Rads, Johnson etc. aren't good at their jobs? Just because they have previous ties to the club does not mean they are given jobs purely on that basis. If that was the case wouldn't legends like Andy Gregory have a role at the club?
The fact is you don't have a clue, but as someone pointed out a couple days ago, you seem to think you have all the answers so why haven't you emailed your CV to Lenagan? I'm sure he'll be impressed with your credentials at the under 11's age group.

So in other words, it wasn't the truth. Surprise surprise.
And as for Harris, he has a track record for making bad decisions when it comes to his own career.
He was on course to being a playing legend, and finished up being an underperforming and very overpaid joke. In coaching terms, he's done next to nothing. On paper, moving from assistant coach at Wigan to head-coach elsewhere was a no-brainer, except that the elsewhere was the Monty Python show that is Salford under Koukash.
I don't know why anyone would listen to anything that Iestyn Harris has to say.

I've been involved with 3 clubs on a pro level and waked away from a job at a fourth, in truth not enough money in it for me and also it is an extremely incestuous political environment something I know for a fact the RFL believe to be harming the game.
The names I mention may be great at their jobs, I can only point to the fact that it doesn't look great on recent underachievement and transfer policy. I did say their positions should be reviewed.
I did also say the bigger issue is the lack of new ideas coming in constantly using people with links to the club, finally a top brand should be going after the best people to support that brand. If all those people happen to be born in the Wigan borough fair enough and what an incredible coincidence, however I highly doubt that is the case.

You wanna chill out lad.
Where did i pretend it was the truth??
It was my observation of what has happened over the past few years.
Never liked Harris but it seems funny how all coaches with clout have gone??
Waney has had a good bit of slack, and i know as everyone else does he is Wigan to the heart, but that doesn't give fans value for money or gets pots in the cabinet.
After spending thousands over 30 odd years watching Wigan i don't spend a penny now and i don't feel bad about it.
