Such a tragedy, a very talented young man, not much older than me. felt it was the only way out, terrible

when i moved to Wigan in 2002 and my wife got me back into rugby league, Terry was a integral part of the side that played in the 2003 GF and 2004 CC Final and I felt the pain of those defeats as an 'adopted Wiganer' so to speak, as a born and bred Wiganer, Terry, although a really tough player, he showed how gutted he was in those games and the fans all related to that.

Though many on these boards have followed Wigan for years and years and seen many great Wigan sides, for me i have only have the memories from 2002 onwards and in Radlinski, Dallas, Carney, Lam, Newton, C. Smith, O'Conner, Cassidy & Farrell, are players that re-ignited my passion for the great game.

With that, it gutted me to hear the news about Terry

Cant help thinking if that pillock hadnt sold him to Bradford, he could still be at Wigan and playing next Saturday.

Totally agree with you, he was never the same player after he left and especially not when he played against us, suppose the coach of the time will be as devastated as everyone else but I like thousands of others would have been happy for him to be still playing for us. Still can't believe it. Terry O'Connor just said he was speaking to him yesterday and no sign of anything being wrong. Just awful.

Newton along with Farrell and Radlinski were the players that really made me love this club and i just cant believe this news, absolutely gutted.

Maybe in the future the RFL should do something to help players who get banned because of things like this instead of pushing them away from the sport.

Like everyone, truly shocked when I heard this on Sky. Just awful that he ended up in this situation in his life.

Loved Terry as a player because he always gave his all & genuinely cared for the club. You could see he felt the way we'd feel to play for Wigan.

Very sad news about Terry Newton, I think were all or some are too 2 quick to judge a person who makes mistakes in life, And reading martin offiah tweet makes alot of sence. mertinoffiah@ "Sad time for RL- Maybe players who have failed tests need to be supported more and helped and not just ostracised from the game" obv there was more too it than that .
