On a side note. I keep hearing how Roby is 'shot' and he's a 'has been'. I'm not sure why really. Yes he's carried us since KC retired, but he showed his class in the position during the World Cup. He was outstanding.
Last year for us he was injured. This year he hasn't been at his best but he's still playing above the standard of any other hooker in the league. Our forwards are being pummelled so I don't know how you expect your hooker to perform.'"
I wouldn't say Roby is shot or a has been. I think having to do as much work as he has to do at Saints these days (50 tackles in the Wire game!) has taken a toll on him, whether that is permanent or if he came to a club like Wigan (which is also not going to happen!) or Leeds he would get back to his best, I don't know.
The fact is that despite this he remains a great player, he's just not playing at quite the level he was a few years ago. Unsurprising when he seems to be doing far more than his fair share of work.
