| He was excellent last night, just a couple of silly attempts at offloads in the first half blighted a near-perfect performance. On the other side, the sooner Thornley's back the better, I like Sarg but he's simply not a centre. I'm not really sure where he fits in to our squad best tbh, he offers good utility value but we've got Bowen, Hampshire and Tierney to play FB and Charnley, Burgess and Manfredi for the wing.

| Sarg is the player under pressure from Goulding not Gelling who keeps getting better and better.
If he can drop the daft error out of his game he could go on to be our new Kevin Iro.
Sarg on the other hand has really dropped off in my opinion and is under pressure for his spot, especially when Thornely returns.

My only issue with how SW has used Gelling is he keeps swapping which side he plays on depending who the other centre is. If Goulding came back in, he would likely go to RC with Gelling switching back over to the left. Is Sarg or Thornley play, Gelling plays on the right. If he's going to be a first choice centre (which IMO he now is) then he needs to be picked consistently on the same side and allow a partnership to develop with his winger. If Thornley can recapture his pre-injury form then our back line going on to the playoffs looks good.
Bowen
Charnley
Gelling
Thornley
Burgess/Manfredi

| Gelling gave Caton Brown a torrid time in the first half, so much so that Harris switched Sau to mark him in the second half. That didn't work out so well either

| Sarginson has really lost for these past few weeks and must be under pressure come the HKR game. He's made a mixture of awful decisions and poor handling errors and looks jaded. I think he's an excellent player but to me he looks a fullback or winger and no more then emergency cover at centre.
If Sarginson is a centre he's surely a right sided one? He constantly steps away from his winger on the left and make the oppositions centre and wingers defensive job an easy one.

| Sarginson always seems to want to put a side step on even if it isn't needed. If he ran straight he'd more often than not get through the gap, or at least he would make space for his winger. Half the time the poor winger hasn''t got a clue what he's going to do next.

95% of the time he steps right as well which takes him away from his winger on that left hand side and never puts any doubt in the opposition wingers mind. If he was over on the right side he would be stepping on the outside and would draw that winger in now and again creating space for his wingman. He's definitely on the wrong side if he is to become a centre but he's no chance of getting that right sided spot with Gelling playing so well.
His knock on in the first half last night highlighted how much he wants to step inside. He was halfway through his step as he caught the ball and it got to him quicker then expected I think. He needs to work hard on that side of his game because there is a lot of positives about him.

| I know he hadn't been here long but I remember watching him at the Widnes away game in 2012 and sensing that he himself didn't feel part of the set up. He seemed to hang back a bit when the lads celebrated certain tries. It was like he was still an outsider when, obviously, staff and players alike would have made him feel as welcome as possible.
Well what a difference now. He certainly stuck at it and is now reaping the rewards. He's playing some great rugby, you can tell he's happy and for my money is our best centre. As has been said, he needs to continue the partnership with Josh on the right. Really chuffed for the lad.

| The thing with Sarginson is I feel he is on the wrong side. He keeps stepping off his left foot away from the wing, and rarely gets the ball out to the winger.
I'm made up that Gelling is finally proving his worth. I've been a fan of his since we signed him and was hoping he'd be given a fair crack.

| Always said Gelling had lots of potential. Great to see him starting to fulfil that potential. He's now an important player for us but I still think there is room for improvement. He has the oppotunity to become one of the top players in SL and let's hope he continues his development.
