| Personally i would like to see the RL community really come together and support our own. E.g. Take this concept to Leigh sports village there is a hotel, there for some if needed , Local community clubs who could E.G put beer festivals on for all visitors and food tents and games for kids.

I like the idea of that, but Leigh Sports Village would surely be too small to hold the crowds?

Just an example mate, my point is lets look after our own in the heartlands rather than line the pockets of RU heartlands

| Never attended the 'magic' weekend.
I ususally pay for a season ticket and the extra expense of a trip to Cardiff or somewhere else is just too expensive, especially when i can watch it on telly. Ultimatley its just another league game and it would take much more than that to make me pay out more money - especially considering i have a season ticket.
Ive read many comment from people saying how much they have enjoyed it but im still not tempted by it at all - especially having seen half-emty stadiums on telly - it doesnt look good imo and i know that i will get to see Wigan play Saints many more times throughout the season and in games that mean more.
Personally i would like to see more effort going into the organisation and promotion of the WCC and lets get back to playing local derbys twice a year in the league.

| I'd bin it. RL fans speak with their feet and the attendances are dwindling year on year. The idea was interesting at first but as has been mentioned, there is a lack of parity in the fixtures.
Back to the drawing board I reckon.

Its not just about watching the game its the meeting up of RL fans to enjoy RL and what major cities have to offer. You also find fans from clubs that never make finals in greater number enjoying their spot in the limelight. The concept may not have succeeded but I have enjoyed visiting everyone.
If they have the games in Manchester then I would expect a bigger overall attendance seeing that most RL fans are whthinn easy reach of the city.

| Well moving it to Manchester should kill it. People will show up just to watch their team then sod off home, so lower crowds should be expected.
If you're going to do it, it has to be a weekend away.

I appreciate your point but i know there are many people like myself who will not pay out the extra expense to watch yet another Wigan / Saints game with nothing more than 2 SL points on the line.
I know it is a seperate point but the current number of derby games that we play is taking away from the real magic of those games and the millenium magic event is doing nothing to help that.

People were doing that anyway, especially last year when it was in Feb. The stadia they chose were far too big for how far away they were for most fans. Putting it back to May in a 40k stadium closer to the heartlands should see a much fuller stadium. If this year doesnt work then the concept needs scrapping.

Bang on. My missus wont want to hang around watching Castleford vs Wakefield if we are only 30 mins from home and 5 mins from Manchester city centre
They should stop messing the league fixtures up and take the clubs out of the equation imo. I would make it something to do with internationals and try and make our England team better because thats where the best scope for expansion is imo.
England academy vs Aussie academy (or whatever theyre called at that grade)
England Knights vs France
England vs Exiles
Make it "Proud to be English day" or something like that. People in England are getting rather ed off with all the petty rules about no St georges flags and things like that in case it upsets our neighbours. Well you can be as English as you want on this day with no petty council rules.
Im sure some people could tweak it to make it even better too

| I was tempted last year but the cost of travelling/staying there etc in addition to the price of my season ticket was just too much.
If it was in Manchester then I'd definitely get a ticket. Stadium is only 15min drive from where I live.

| If its in the northwest i just dont get the point at all.
Yes itll be easier to get to so theyll be able to say the crowds were bigger so it worked but that is really a pathetic argument.
we will have three games there one day, four the other day and at no point will it be full as fans whose teams aren't playing will have just gone back home. So all we will acheive is showing our game cant even fill city's ground when all the clubs are there!
I'd be the first to admit that the numpties at Red Hall never made any effort with it as a promotional vehicle for the game - even though they claimed that was the point of going to Cardiff and Edinburgh. In both of those places the locals didn't have a clue why we where there.
Personally, s someone who has attended all the Magic Weekends if its to be played in Manchester I'd rather them have a blank weekend or a nine a side tournament.

Even bigger than the other 2 and just as far away. Can you imagine how rubbish less than 10k people watching Quins Cats on TV would look!?
