Yikes, those stats seem to show when using the league points as a basis that Wigan have got worse from 2000 year on year to mid-2006. They have only started improving in 2007, looking at the 2006 season the league points started to get better err, well, when Noble got the job.

League placing also bears this out, 2006 the lowest point and subsiquent years better than this.

However statistically speaking Wigan are not as good now as they were during the 90's.... Oh, and since Phil Clarke started doing it pundit job on sky in 1999 Wigan have got worse.

The key to a new contract is consistancy without doubt.

We've played well in fits and starts for all the time Noble has been incharge but we've not had a good consistant run since the back end of his first season and that needs to change imo.

The run of fixtures coming up gives us a good opportunity to find some consistant form. I'm not saying we have to win them all but i'd like to see us take the majority of them and just look like we want to play for them all and not be half hearted.

Do you still believe Noble can only coach 5 drives and a kick? Do you still believe Noble cannot coach entertaining rugby? Do you still believe he has no idea how to coach attacking rugby?

They were the crux of your past arguments re.Noble. Jonh sat for hours typing post after post about how Noble was a very limited coach who could not coach anything but a simple 5 drives and a kick. All that technical jargon you typed and paragraphs of drivel about how you knew better was a waste of your life that you will never get back.

Seriously though, my point was just that Noble has done wonders for his prospects of being long term Wigan coach with that performance, but it needs to be backed up oin the weeks to come or it will soon be forgotten as an isolated good performance surrounded by a sea of poor ones (which has been the story of his tenure to date).

From the evidence of this season i am not convinved no, is the answer to your question on all 3 counts, maybe occasionally he sends us out with the right game plan but the evidence of us being 9th with a game extra played over most other teams is hardly testament to his coaching this season.

Sadly it seems from your cameo posts after 1 good performance its all very black and white to you, others are quick to criticise poor coaching of which there has been plenty but also happy to praise it and Noble off the back of such performances as we saw on Saturday. Its called a balanced view rather than hiding for weeks on end then slating those who do not share your opinion once in a blue moon.

This is true. We have played you lot twice this year, and been outplayed twice.

In the Easter game, we were lucky our defence stood strong, because it could have been another whitewash. Against a better team last week, we would have had 50 past us. We were lucky not to get nilled this week by you lot. There are a lot of cracks forming, we will find it hard to turn around that level of performance by this weekend, so will be out of the cup; then another trip to France which is a traditional defeat for us.
