| If Sculthorpe is indeed announced as the assistant to Wane it'll be be bizarre appointment IMO. Not a wrong one, as they may turn out to be a fantastic coaching team, and what ever they'll have my full backing. It's just that I, and a lot on here have the opinion that for Wane to succeed he'd need an experienced man by his side. We'll have gone the complete opposite direction of that, to a man who to my knowledge has very little coaching experience.
What I'd love to know, and hopefully we'll hear if this turns out to be true. Is why Sculthoroe was selected? Was he sounded out by Wane and Lenegan? Or did he approach Wigan about the deal? And then what in particular got him the deal? Because it can't be a track record of coaching success. Maybe he gave a cracking interview and that won Lenegan over? What ever, I hope we hear the reasons why Lenegan chose Sculthorpe.
I also hope the announcement of Sculthorpe as assistant doesn't over shadow the announcement of Wane as head coach, that would be terribly unfair on Shaun.
This may turn out to be another excellent decision from Lenegan, and I really hope it is. Sometimes it is better to go left field rather than like for like when replacing someone.
As for Amos to Quins. From what I saw on Tuesday night they'd be better off with King. Still if this loan deal leads to Amos seeking a request to leave Wigan at the end of the season a year early, I won't complain.

| If Matt King goes to Wigan, i think he'd replace Pat on the wing who would be shifted to fullback and Sam would go back in the halves

I don't think there's any way that any coach would have Pat Richards as a permanent fullback.

While Paddy is solid at Full Back, he lacks the ball skills to link in the line like Sam does. Now King & Richards Centre & Wing partnership would be epic.

You may as well point to the scoreboard any time a high kick goes to their wing.

| Surely if Matt King comes to Wigan he will get the 3 shirt with Josh as his wingman. George and Pat to continue at 4 and 5.
That would allow Joel to return to the second row and be our right sided 2nd rower.
Should Coley retire then our props would be Fielden, Lima, Prescott, Mossop plus Crosby Davies and Spencer. Maybe also O'Carroll.
The back row would consist of Joel, HH, Hock, Lockers, Faz, Tuson & Hughes.
That looks like a very good pack after allowing for Coley and Hoffman's departure.

I would think Wane himself would be seeking the appointment of Sculthorpe. It is important that he picks his number 2. Rugby League is a very small pond and I am sure Wane and Sculthorpe will be friends away from the field and Wane probably likes the qualities he sees in Sculthorpe and feels he will do a great job alongside him.
They will not have sat down and plucked his name out of thin air as a possible target, there must be some long standing history away from the spotlight between the 2.

| If Sculthorpe is appointed at least the club will save themselves paying travelling expenses. Scully can walk to the ground from where he lives.

Oh dear...
Worth it just to know how much it will sicken the Saints fans... I would imagine they will find it stranger than we do. The lack of any noticable coaching experience is my only concern.
