| All this talk about what Gleeson gets up to off the field, his 'old ways' etc....when was the time of his 'old ways'...?
Was it 2004? 2005? At this time he was the best centre in Super League and was in the SL Dream Team.
Was it 2006, 2007? His stats for this period were impressive, check his assists, busts, breaks, offloads on the SL website against other centres in the league for a comparison.
There has always been rumours and innuendo about Gleeson and what he was like off the field, but he was a good player and unlike others at Wire he didnt get injured. The biggest disappointment with him when he played for us was a nagging feeling that he had more to give, after his first season when he was outstanding, he looked a better playre in Tests.

Great Point, He is a very durable player and a Bit like Connolly in that respect!

| Ive seen Gleeson in a few messy states but again ive not seen him up Wigan for ages, i dont know whether hes got a new stomping ground or hes settled down. Ive always wanted to see Gleeson in a Wigan shirt, and i know hes always wanted to play for Wigan so nothing a few bitter Wire fans can say will take any polish off this signing.

26672.jpg "The Warrington people hadn't had success for a few years, but there's no speccy in the world as good. They are very knowledgeable and appreciative of hard work. What they like is honesty. They want the team to try; if they fail they fail, but they expect honesty. They know when players don't put it in."

| Gleeson is a great centre with an outstanding talent. If Wigan/the man himself can fully focus that talent then you could have made a fantasic buy - if not, then you will eventually get as frustrated with him as we have here at Warrington.
If Smith feels that Warrington would be better off without him then who am I to argue?
In Smith we trust!

He then went to Wigan and was seen Down King St!
He later went to Pemps (The Night club Not the T-Shirt Magnets house!)
Followed by a Trip to the Cow shed!
At 6am he was seen stumbling out of Santi Bag with a Vindaloo where he puked, fell unconcious and Sh3t himself!
However he was celebrating the fact that he's got away from Warrington so you can forgive him!
It is also a Known fact that ALL the Warrington fans who chose to ignore the rumours over the last 3/4 years have suddenly now become experts in these so called rumours and see them as FACTS and Wigan fans Vice/Versa!
In the End, just accpet that as it stands, Wigan have got the Better of the deal.

That will be it. His ability will always be tempered by his liking for a hedonistic lifestyle! Mind you he isn't the only one at Warrington but he is certainly the first to be shown the exit door.

23997_1287161421.jpg
Great game of rugby league. Fantastic atmosphere, Wigan were breathtaking and dominant in all areas for the first 25 minutes, coupled with us making alot of dumb mistakes, then fortunately they brought McIlorum on which helped us back into the game. I thought some of the tries we scored to get us within two we're out of this world stuff. Towards the end we had to force it a little and we had a few things go wrong, i.e Monas kick on the first for King and Solomona going off who was causing havoc. Wigan were clinical in their eventual execution of us. Proud of Wire today and gave us a little glimpse to the future. Silverwood was awful as per, but I expect no less. Tomkins is a world class player and by far the best english player in SL. Wigan are a champion side and would be a worthy winner of taking our title as challenge cup. Good luck over the next month and a bit.
:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_23997.jpg |

| I'm glad we have a decent pairing now cause we aint had one in years
We al know what he's like but i'm going to reserve my judgement for a few months see how he goes on at a big club
I hope it works out really do but it will take a month or 2 for him to settle in proper

He was bought by Warrington will full knowledge of his extra curricular activities. He was only "shown the door" when £100k was offered.
Love how Wire fans have the "Holier than thou" attitude that Martin has been made an example of, rather than as part of a pure rugby commercial deal.

Looking for any scraps of comfort after a deal that sees them lose a quality international and gain Bloody Hell Mathers...

| Anybody who reads the Wire board regularly, will know that Gleeson wasn't the most popular Wire player. Like Briers, many people wanted him shipping out.
Personally, I liked him, and think Wigan have got a very good signing, but it certainly isn't any bitterness from the majority of Wire fans.
Short term, he will be a loss of us, as Johnson will probably be 3, and he isn't anywhere near as good as Gleeson, but long term, I have faith in Smith, and the press release clearly shows that there was an issue.
