Any man who throws his career and reputation away as Sonny Bill has done must be more motivated by money than is good for him.
I thought Gasnier was bad, but at least Gasnier had collected honours in the game over many years before starting to play silly games.
Sonny Bill will by now be very rich, but ultimately no-one will remember him.

I meant in RL circles, which are a lot bigger in the southern hemisphere than they are here. Though I suppose that may not matter to him in the long run.
Don't get me wrong, I'd have him like a shot - but I can't see it, given his past record of asking telephone numbers for his wages.

| No one will remember SBW?
Heard some cr@p but this is beyond.
SBW has become more known of late, he's a boxer as well as a RU player winning contests, he's likely to be a world cup winner with the All Blacks. He's signed a massive deal with addias promoting the goods world wide.
And he's still young enough to return to league or give boxing a serious go.
Why would he come to SL?
If he returns to RL he'll be at the rabbits. Mark my words.

he's the best rugby union player in the world right now. Every game the All-Blacks play he's usually man of the match, his skills are just on another level to anybody on the pitch every time

I wouldn't say he'd never come back to league, especially once the salary cap limit is raised in the NRL in 2013. There'll be plenty of very tempting offers on his plate, which may even outshine what he's getting from whichever French RU side he turns out for

Okay, I'll rephrase. He'll be remembered in RL - but for the wrong reasons. Sadly.
(Frankly, I couldn't give a sh** who's remembered in RU or boxing).

He plays for Crusaders in the Super 15 competition. His time at Toulon, France was little more than a circus. He won't be back in rugby league for a while as rumours have it that he's going to sign for Auckland Blues after the rugby union world cup.
