| Spine of Croft Sneyd Ackers and Brierley will always give Salford a chance (I know Ackers is out).
We are 12 point favourite for this and hope we flex our muscle and put down a statement against another one of last years play off teams.
Mago has to be dropped after last week so unfortunately Singo straight back into the team.

I can't believe Isa was patched up ready to play again so quickly as that mouth injury looked sore as hell.

Im sure Isa has returned following another facial injury, one tuff player it was frustrating on the night the injury looked horrific, team doctors and the on field officials need to ensure treatment is delivered immediately, players should not be dictating if they stay on the pitch.

He has his limitations but you won't find better attitude/commitment from an overseas player.

| Mago and Isa left out from last week. I can’t say I’m massively surprised. The errors by the pair of them were criminal really. Isa doesn’t mean to do it, he’s just so limited in terms of his handling. Mago just looks like he can’t be bothered bending his back.

| Can’t help but start looking at the fact the attack coach from last year has gone. It’s like prime Lammy days this last few games (but he didn’t have Field and French).

I think his partner, sat on the bench, should be the man with the blow torch on him. Smith is involved, trying things, looks at least like he could make something happen. His stats for try involvements this season back that up. On the other hand, I wouldn’t know Cust was on the field half the time. I wanted to see more from Cust this season but I think we’ve actually seen less.

Agreed.
Cust terrible tonight.
Need to bring Miski in next week and start with French at 1 and Field at 6.
Thought King was great again tonight.
I feel frustrated by Wardle he seems lazy. Lacks push around the ball.
Got sick of seeing Faz break and no support from his left edge.
Really need to sort out that half back partnership.

Couldn't agree more. Just having the pair of them in a position to get their hands on the ball as opposed to French being stuck on the wing made loads more space. Dealing with Field/French as a stand alone whilst the other is tucked away is pretty simple for the opposition. Have them both in the mix and they're a whole different prospect.
How much better was Smith when Cust was off? Think someone has already said our flatness generally in attack isn't from the so called junior half of our halfbacks.

Agree with all that. All night I was itching for Wardle to up his workrate. He just didn’t get involved. I like the lad but there are nights when you need to roll up your sleeves. Cust is going backwards. I wasn’t hugely impressed last year but gave him benefit of the doubt with it being his first year. He just isn’t progressing. The BS about him being Man of Steel fave in 2022 did him no favours. He was an NRL fringe player and I can tell why he was just that.

| What’s happened to Cust he was great before the injury. He looks taped up to the heavens and clunky in attack and defence. I still think there is a player in there but I’m struggling to see when the switch will come on

| For most of that game I was wondering what the team actually do in training all week - so disjointed and lacking direction totaly no idea in attack at all, far too reliant on magic from French and/or Field.
Cust was woeful all game and yet again no go forward from our so called forwards (Cooper is another who has gone backwards from last season) - hardly made a dent for most of the game.Last 10 or 15 minutes we actually started to play as a team rather than one out, amazing and we looked so much more effective. Peet needs to drill the team in basic play because something is not working.

| Simple formula to win games, we need to ship the ball wider with less passes to get to the edges. The difference in that last 10 mins was ridiculous. Smith and Cust is just not working. We don’t get on the outside if Field isn’t there and spent half the game with plenty field position and useless starting halfbacks who had no clue what they were doing. Thankfully our 2 best attacking players got the job done.

I think realistically the main issue is just workrate. Jonh mentioned the lack of push around Faz and it’s clear as day. There’s a lack of intensity in defence and a lack of intensity in taking the ball up and moving off the ball. We were so lazy under Lammy in terms of off the ball movement and we look to be back at that point currently. Even on the winning score, Smith gets the ball in the middle of the field and there is just nothing around him. Nobody is pushing either side of him and he then throws it wider and Field manages to induce some panic.

Was he really great? I’ve always just thought he was decent, with the hope he’ll go in the right way but he’s gone backwards. I look at a half and go through the tick list and see how they stack up. In terms of Cust- Organiser? Not that we’ve seen. Good passer? No, not really. Good kicking game? Not that I know of. Dangerous Runner? Not particularly. Good defender? Absolutely not. Good lad? Seems it.
That might be harsh but I think it’s about right. I like the lad, I think he’s an ok player but Manly had it about right with using him as a back up 6 or 9. Are Manly that much better than us? I don’t think they are in truth.
