| Quite a while ago it was said that IL had an ambition to set up a museum dedicated to Wigan Rubgy. Does anyone know if this is still on the cards ? With his setting up of Central Park at the old pemberton middle school perhaps that could be an ideal place to have one. I for one think this would be a good idea to honour our past achievements and to honour the greats that have worn the shirt. There must be lots of items knocking around or items that could be loaned to create something of interest. If it where to happen I may be tempted to donate the last ever directional sign to Central Park that stood in the town centre. Been wrapped in bubble wrap all these years. Thoughts please.

I think the idea is a brilliant one, however Im not sure if 'Central Park' is the best location.
I think it would be fitting for not only local people to visit and learn about the clubs heritage but also visitors to the town who would more than likely visit the town centre as opposed to Montrose Avenue. The change of location by the club shop for example made much more sense and I would guess that more of a profit has been made as a result of the location.
On a side note I was told today that a number of items relating to the history of the club are currently on display at the History Shop in the town centre just by the Life Centre so that may be worth a visit for anyone interested.

| If i were minted and needed a play thing to keep me from going senile, i would buy up the Wigan Pier complex and put the museum in the old 'Way We Were' building and turn the Orwell pub into a Rugby League themed real ale pub. Maybe a hotel on the site as well. If i were minted ...

| I would much rather have a supporters club than a museum.

What about a supporters club with a museum?

| Went to Madrid and to the Real Madrid museum. They literally had a replica of every single trophy they had won with a little description on how it was won. They'd won 9 European Cups so they had literally 9 European Cups made. They'd won something like 30 league titles and literally had 30 league title trophies in a row all next to each other.
If we followed the same method it would cost us a fortune! 19 Challenge Cups in a row would take up the whole museum, never mind 20 championships!
