I think it was here, might have at t'other place, where someone said some thing about Harry Smith playing his way out of an England place, and I thought the same tonight. But who would replace him? Marc Sneyd? Is there anyone else (Lewis being a 6)?
I’ve very little interest in England RL. Even with Wane in charge. They’ll get pumped by Australia and it’ll be a bit embarrassing for British RL. So I wouldn’t be overly disappointed to see him get an extended rest over October & November. On recent weeks showings, you wouldn’t pick him. But there’s 3 months until the GF.

| Wakefield had 1 specialist prop today in the 17.
They absolutely dominated us in the pack.
Out enthused, more energy and significantly tougher.
Havard and Dupree were shocking.
Faz, it’s kind of sad to watch. I’ve defended him but he’s one of those players that when age catches up with them, it catches up quick.

| Come on people, we've seen this spell time and again now and we've surely all realised by now that we don't need to go OTT! The players are simply a bit bored and waiting for the business end of the season. We will be absolutely fine come the games that actually matter!!
Looking for individuals to blame is silly. French was off, Field wasn't at his best, Smith struggled, Havard was quiet, Nsemba has had better games and on and on and on. Our best players just aren't fully on at the minute but they'll find it. The players deserve our trust after this last few seasons IMO.

| Well that was a tough watch, beaten by a better team on the night,no need to panic as pointed out we have been here before but will bounce back ( I hope).
Wakey are a good side no doubt but if you had money on it would you have it on Wakey or Wigan for the GF,I know which one I would put it on.

| Anyone know what time Wakey's "we beat Wigan" trophy parade is today?
Apart from the small club scenes, the saddest part of last night is this - the result doesn't matter one bit.
These results and performances happen every year for us. Kind of makes a mockery of following them home and away during June/July tho. 8 months and only really 4, maybe 5 games, mean something?

| Poor all round last night, hardly anoyone came out of that game with any credit - we looked off the pace and our game plan - 5 drives a high kick was ineffective, the only time Smith did anything different (the kick over the line) we scored. Are we banned from trying grubber kicks these days, we look so lost when in the opposition half.
The last few games have been poor we have relied too much on individual play to scroe - nothing structured at all.
It was me who mentioned Smith playing his was out of the Ashes - not sure who would replace him but on current showing there is a chane someone would, heck given his game last night he could be playing himself out of the Wigan team - he was that bad.
Farrell is a sad sight at present he looks so far off the player he was - think it is only the fact we do not have an obvious replacement keeping him in the team, I wonder if a switch back to the left might help him? Just a thought. He does not run the lines he used to near the oppostion line, which I wonder if it is the switch of sides that is effecting his gam in an attacking sense. We definitely need a second row recruit for next year.

These results do matter, maybe not in the final outcome of who wins the title, but to the Wigan fans who came over the M62 on a Friday night expecting to see a full strength Wigan team demolish an injury hit Trinity but were 'rewarded' with a gutless and lazy effort from their team. They matter to the Trinity fans whose vocal support seemed to intimidate some of the Wigan players. They matter to the sport, which needs to provide entertainment to both fans and to a wider audience in order to encourage new fans to attend games. They matter to the England manager, who must be wondering if some of his 'shoe-ins' have the heart or strength of character to match up to the Aussies. Finally, I suspect it matters to you despite the patronising saltiness of your post. Speaking to Wigan fans after the game last night they were quick to praise Trinity, but equally quick to bemoan the half assed efforts of their team of 'stars'.

The fact is that - this happens every year to Wigan. Do you think, after watching us lift the GF trophy last year - anyone mentioned Hull away? Have you moment. It's probably the highlight of your season. That says more about your club and your fans, than it does about anything else. Those 'stars' will be remembered for a long, long time after they retire. Don't think we'll be saying the same about anyone at Wakey.

| Just crack on and enjoy your overweening sense of entitlement and arrogance while understanding that most Wigan fans aren't as childish or puerile as you seem to be.
