I almost feel guilty questioning his inclusion Stu, as I think he probably would be in that group were it not for his wholehearted playing style. Even last night he was still throwing himself at the defence harder than most of your forwards! He's still a talent when fit but, unfortunately for him and Saints, he's not at his best often enough.

They seem to have other issues though e.g. a big disconnect between the club/players and fans, poor recruitment (rumoured to be replacing Knowles with Josh Papali'i, replaced Dodd with Sailor) and old, out of form players with multiple years left on their contracts.


Jonny Lomax's dropoff has to be studied. I couldn't believe how bad he was against Leeds.

Redvee have stopped any posts or replies at the moment, doesn't seem like the Wellens departure is as clear cut as thought.

It's a funny old place. I don't understand why they would stop all posts just because the coach may or may not be going. It feels like half the time, Saints fans don't like each other, let alone other clubs fans. 

I can understand the frustration of everyone at the moment, it's clear to everyone bar the board that something needs to be done and there was talk that he had stepped down from a previously excellent source. My feeling is the club have had a word in an attempt to calm it down although that's been denied. A number of the more active/negative posters have been seemingly banned too.

Signing Josh Papali'i is not going to help with that. 

On another note, Wigan and Saints will now face each other at Wembley for the first time in the women's cup final (got my tickets). I would have had significant worries over this game in recent seasons but, given the manner of Wigan's victory over Leeds on Saturday, I am now thinking this will be competitive, though Saints will deservedly start as favourites. Great progress thus far under Denis Betts and hopefully this will see the big three become a big four in the women's game.

Saw something the other day on facebook that the old Edge Hall Road training facility has finished being renovated now and will be open soon for both Latics and Wigan RL's women to use. Seems Danson is investing in Women's sport and we are starting to see the pay off from that now with the Women's first team, it was a very convincing performance from the Wigan Women on Saturday, much sharper and more organised than when i have caught their games previously. 

Hopefully now they are getting full use of their new training facilities we will see them progress further over the next few years.
