I think you have Paasi wrong. In 2018 he played 23 times, starting 22 at front row. In 2019 he had the exact same stats. This year because of Covid-19 he has played 6 times, all off the bench. So 44 out of his last 52 games were started at prop. He isn't a hybrid anything. Matautia falls more into that category to be fair.
Paasi, Walmsley and Lees will be our regular props with Amor and LMS as 4th choice/cover along with Dan Norman who is a huge lump coming from London. I know little about him though to be honest. He could be another Richard Beaumont who doesn't play a game or he could be another late bloomer like Walmsley. You never know.
As I say, I think on the whole our pack is better as a collective but I don't expect everyone to share that opinion. You're right to say your back row is stronger. Nowhere have I suggested otherwise. Not wanting to drag up the old "combined 13" debate but in such a scenario, Batemen and Farrell would clearly walk in. However so would Walmsley, Roby and Knowles in my opinion.

I don’t think there’s an over confidence at all. I look around and see most people acknowledging Saints are better than us and will be favourites should we meet in Hull in two weeks. We can sit here and criticise Wiganers for pinning their hopes on that victory two weeks ago (with Saints missing Walmsley) and showing too much confidence because of it but by the same token we can question if Saints fans are putting too much importance on Walmsley. I listen to Saints fans and they basically seem to suggest that Walmsley comes in and all is good with the world and we stand no chance. Was it that simple? The result may have been different but after a 4 try to 1 victory, would he have been worth 3 try’s?
The truth is somewhere in the middle. Saints are still a better side than us with Walmsley in but not by a lot. They would be favourites going in to a game with both teams at full strength but would it be a shock if Wigan beat them? Not really. This isn’t 2019, Saints don’t have Thompson, they don’t have Holbrook and Wigan are an improved side.

Completely agree. If you read some of these posts then it's almost like you guys have fallen off a cliff. One game doesn't make a season and one game doesn't break a season either.
There's a good % of the current Wigan squad that, at this moment in time, is all potential and need to actually win something. I'm not saying they aren't good players, but they are in the bracket you guys were in a few years back I.e plenty of potential, but not much to show for it.
There also seems to be a real obsession with what's said on Redvee too. Not sure why anyone who isn't a Saints fan is bothered, or why any would need to go over to the site?

It’s still Saints’ to lose IMO. There’s an air of confidence but that’s not really strange considering how hit and miss we’ve been all season to finally put out a string of quality, confidence boosting performances and unexpectedly pip you to the LLS. Throw in the signings/re-signings for 2021 and can you really blame the confidence?
Most level headed Wigan fans will tell you it’s Saints’ title to lose and there’s still a risk that we do a Wigan and lose against Hull next week to send Hull, well, to Hull.

| Back on topic about JH - there's some serious NRL talent OOC next season
rlhttps://wwos.nine.com.au/nrl/off-contract-player-news-halves-decisions-for-12-clubs/45c2b1d1-f466-4a75-8015-0ebde3fe0e4e?ocid
If he wants to go back to the NRL and if he wants to go to a decent side, then he's going to have to hit the ground running in 2021.
