Is it me or have I missed something when reading the new RL structure. I understand right to the point (after 23 super league rounds) where the three leagues split. What I want to know is, when the 8 teams (in Super League) play each other once, does the league start again or do the teams carry the points already accrued forward. Secondly, if they play each other ONLY once, who plays at home and who plays away

Think this is a good move, really looking forward to next season. With closer games and far fewer dead rubbers. Season ticket renewal was an absolute no-brainer whereas the last few seasons I've resented paying good money for a season ticket when it was realistically a foregone conclusion that we would make the play offs. I'm sure I can't be the only one who struggled to get too bothered when we lost regular season games.

I really don't see how the new system is any more sustainable than the old when we had P&R last time. At some point a team on the full SL salary cap will have to slash its wage bill and fire players off. If they don't then they will just go back up the year after. All the arguments against P&R from a financial point of view have not gone away.

All this system does is kick the problem of dealing with teams that pay vastly different amounts to players further down the road.

The same teams will dominate, there will be more teams going bust chasing promotion or avoiding relegation, our top players will continue to leave to ru and nrl cos we can't compete on salaries or ambition and there will be no marquee signings to boost attendances for the same reasons. No other sport would spread resources in the same way to reduce the quality of the elite teams. But it will be a sustainable disaster.
