Quote: Grimmy "Think this is a good move, really looking forward to next season. With closer games and far fewer dead rubbers. Season ticket renewal was an absolute no-brainer whereas the last few seasons I've resented paying good money for a season ticket when it was realistically a foregone conclusion that we would make the play offs. I'm sure I can't be the only one who struggled to get too bothered when we lost regular season games.'"
Just how do the Aussies survive without artificially rigging the league to create meaningful fixtures and without P&R?
From the link Andy providedin a sustainable manner."
I really don't see how the new system is any more sustainable than the old when we had P&R last time. At some point a team on the full SL salary cap will have to slash its wage bill and fire players off. If they don't then they will just go back up the year after. All the arguments against P&R from a financial point of view have not gone away.
All this system does is kick the problem of dealing with teams that pay vastly different amounts to players further down the road.
