Seeing as the Lions won team of the year and Warren Gatland won coach of the year it's hardly surprising that the man of the series was up there. The Lions is huge in this country, probably the biggest event in RU hence why such a big deal was made of winning the series.
Also, Bradley Wiggins didn't just win the Tour De France, he was the 1st Brit to do so ever. Add to that his Olympic gold medal and it's easy to see why his achievements were ranked higher than Froome's (whose win is still a huge achievement).
