| its interesting that wane is having a moan about farrell's defence when 1 of his favourite love childs micky mac as been poor in his tackling this season, but not a word (not having a go at micky, i think he's top draw but just wish criticism was fair) also i cant remember him having a go at hocks defence last year even though hock isn't in the same league as farrell when it come's to defence.

He was probably asked directly what he thought of Farrell's defence. I'm sure if he was asked about Micky Mac's defence he'd be critical of it.

| In regard to Farrells defence, nonody reckon he is just taking the mick a bit?
He goes out and says "his defence could be better" then goes back to the team where Faz says "cheers for that boss".
Wane replies "its ok son dont want you getting too big for your boots".
It prob isnt but it comes across like an inside joke to me aimed twofold to annoy ppl that dont like Wane and for everyone to look at just how well Faz is doing before defending him.
Best way to highlight your players stats is probably to say something negative so ppl go and look.
You say Sam has been great with line breaks everyone nods, you say he could do more and suddenly everyone checks and ups arms because he is top in that regard.

My sentiments exactley, who gives a sh*t! At the end of the day a lot of you where knocking Wigans credentials and Wanes squad rotation in the friendlies before the season had even started i think you should at least eat your humble pie, you owe him that at least for the way he's got the lads playing. What a lot of you dont realise nor think about before you post is from coaches gone by John Monie, Mag etc.. Wane has got some serious acts to follow and im sure with the type of winner he is, he will want to be the best of the lot so we have no right to criticise how, why or what he expects from his players, he's a Wiganer thru and thru it's in the veins we cant ask for more than that!

| To be fair to Wane, defence isn't just about making a lot of tackles and having few missed tackles. Farrell has given away more pens than any other player in in the squad, usually in the tackle or PTB. There is also the question of being in the correct position in the defensive line to make the tackle in the first place. These may the areas for improvement to which Wane is referring.

| I can only thank God that the biggest talking-point about the Wigan coach is his media skill.
Sometimes our memories are just too short for our own good.

I'm sure you mean Passenger Millward, because it must be pretty clear to all by now that he was very lucky indeed with the team he got at your club. When he had players under him less well equipped to coach themselves, he was proved clueless.
I'm sure you lot knew that of course. The big sit-in was just a prank, wasn't it?

Indeed.
In fact their short term memories are rubbish too. Wigan's chances were being written off at the start of the season by many in the media (and quite a few Wigan fans).
Surely Wane deserves at least some of the credit for how we've been playing and how well the side has coped with major personnel changes and injuries?
Instead Wane appears to be the latest in a long line of targets for the lynch mob elements amongst the Wigan fans. As fans we showed we were the best in RL when we got behind the club in the dark days of the mid-noughties, our unprecedented show of support for our then failing team overshadowing Saint's greatest era of success, but still we let ourselves down with things like this.
