"George Carmont insists he won't change his mind when it comes to playing rugby, but admits he would still like to be involved in sport.
As part of a special series on Wigan TV, we've been speaking to the four key players who won't be with us next season.
In his last ever interview at Wigan, the Centre told us he would have to take "any work he could get" when he returned to New Zealand - but wouldn't be making a return to the game.

Well you'd be wrong then.

I don't see how that argument stacks up. All he had to do was ask his agent to see what was on offer in the NRL and instead of saying he was retiring he could have said he was off to an NRL club once his contract was up. |

I watched the interview with him on the Wigan site last night and I got a sense that he simply didn't think he would get an opportunity to continue playing professional rugby league back home in New Zealand as he obviously doesn't have many clubs to choose from. You can stop worrying now Dave as it looks like Carmont has decided to retire.
The 34-year-old recently trained with the New Zealand Warriors after returning to Auckland with his family, but is thought to have abandoned plans of a swansong season in the NRL.'"
