Good find ,takes me back. Reminds you of how big the Wigan club were back then when the captain appeared on what was then one of the most popular shows on national tv( a time when we only had 4 channels). Seem to remember a short time after the team appeared on the bbc personality of the year
My everlasting memory of Dean Bell in a Wigan shirt is from the 1993 cup final. After the lap of honour he just stood in front of the Wigan end and slowly took all the strapping off his wrists etc before putting both arms in the air and getting a massive massive roar. My Dad always says its the best working of a crowd he's ever seen.
and that's before I got to his haircut.
