I'm guessing McBanana finally saw the light and was planning to drop him. Peacock has decided to quit before he was pushed... Just my opinion of course and if I'm wrong I'm sure I can expect a phone call to put the record straight...
It's the correct call by Peacock who would have continued to be selected by McNamara until he was 78.
Jamie Peacock deserves massive respect. He's been an immense player and person for the British game and I'd love to see him stay in the set up in some form.
I was actually hoping they'd announce this before his last game though so he could get the send off he deserves.
Yes the guy has been a great player for Bradford Leeds and England the stand out prop for england for some time but he is right the time has come to quit international rugby and try and prolong his sl career. Respect to him but like Nicky kiss would have loved to have known before last exiles game then we could have given him the ovation he rightly deserves as an England player.
had the next Exiles game been additionally billed as Peacock's last game perhaps they'd sell a couple o' dozen more tickets (I'd 've looked at it again).
Great servant to the game, but we need to bring on new blood - and quick.
