I hope he doesn't i.e. Hughes just disappear because of last week. Somebody said rested, a 20 year old doesn't need resting after 5 matches even if one week was pretty poor. Just hope he has not become a scapegoat. Wane was the one to blame even though he doesn't seem to accept any responsibility, his interview on Warriors site that he didn't play Sam etc. in case they got injured is ridiculous and then to say it could have been Sam etc. injured as Lee Mossop is, doesn't that make Mossop feel good and wanted.
Now we have a situation where Hughes is dropped and how must he feel, 1 bad match where the coach has put everybody under unwanted pressure and he suffers and Wane doesn't think he did anything wrong. I really hope I am looking at things wrongly but I would be uncomfortable working for someone who is putting the blame where it is not really appropriate.
I also hope that Mr Wane will stop talking a good game and keep intimating that Michael McGuire was not really that good, but deliver as so far he has been found wanting, so stop the talking and deliver week in week out. MM did very little talking but delivered in both the last 2 seasons from the same bunch of players who were real no hopers.'"
This is more than a little OTT in my opinion. Hughes is a second row who has been filling in at centre for Carmont, no more no less, and to try and use it (Hughes not being picked) as another stick to try and beat Wane with is a little pathetic and typical of the over reaction on here at times.
I would say Hughes has done a decent job filling in but has been no better than average and overall he has looked fairly limited at centre and was very poor last week, the first time he has had to play against a proper out and out centre and a fairly poor one at that in Marsh. Carmont has been our best centre for the last number of years and was always going to get his place back when fit, indeed if we werent playing Widnes he would have probably played last week anyway. Carmont needs to come back into the team at some point and with Warrington next week London is the perfect game to get some match fitness again.
