Farrell looks like he could be in for a very good year. His support play is excellent and he looked stronger in defence.
Hock was erratic but there are promising signs. He was making metres for fun and missed too many tackles but considering his 5 match ban will have affected his return to match fitness he's looking promising.
Negatives - Our two new props were nothing short of poor. Flower worked hard in defence but ruined it with some sloppy tackling. In attack he was almost non-existent and couldn't make any impact against a weakened Giants pack.
Lauaki was worse, he didn't do anything with ball in hand, made very few metres and seemed completely reluctant to make a tackle.
Lack of invention in attack at times. The dummy runners weren't drawing players in down the middle, the passing wasn't slick.
Carmont and Richards looked surprisingly poor. Richards seems to have lost any pace he once had while Carmont wasted several opportunities. He's only had 1 pre-season game though so perhaps he can be forgiven for not being up to scratch.'"
