I know this may sound a little far-fetched but if Madge does leave the club at the end of the season there is one man in particular that I would love to see as head coach of Wigan...
Shaun Edwards.
A Wigan legend. Fantastic coach at Wasps and Wales RU. On top of that he said last year in an interview that he would always love to come back and coach Wigan at some point. I think Waney is a future head coach of Wigan but think he could be a Dennis Betts if not careful as we don't want to throw him in the deep end right away but Shaun has a lot of experience. Captain of Wigan. GB and England international. Coach at London Wasps. Coach at Wales RU.
I just think that if you have Edwards and Wane as head and assistant then you have two major factors in the 1987 WCC team and the dominant time of Wigan. Bring back the good ol' days (however, current ones are pretty good also!) and let him do it if he wants the job!

There is an ex Wigan fullback within the current backroom staff who was FAR better than Radders under the high ball. Without doubt the best I've ever seen in my thirty years of watching RL. |

just my opinion,and i'm sure alot won't agree.but I think Hampson was the better full back |

Have I misunderstood your point (it is Late)?
Brian Smith spent one year at Bradford and won nothing
the second generation i.e Matthew Elliot won a superleague title and a Challenge Cup
and then The third generation Brian Noble Won everything.... lots of times....

Remember Jonh doesnt like Noble.
However I do feel he is right with his overall point, we must always look outside the club to continue to improve as well as trusting what is within our systems. |
