| Quote Deano G="Deano G"As a Wigan fan its difficult to be unbiased about Saints so I'd welcome comments from fans of other clubs, but at times I wonder what hold Saints have over the RFL - whether its the RFL ignoring Long's latest revelations about the circumstances surrounding that notorious game against Bradford (some pretty serious allegations in that book which if true would bring the game into further disrepute) or KFC's very lenient treatment by the RFL disciplinary process (again) or repeated salary cap infringements or the poor state of KR, they just seem to be treated with kid gloves by the RFL.
I'll ignore the usual inevitable nonsense and diatribes from Saints fans but would be interested to hear what fans of other clubs think: is there something in this or not, is it just part of a wider bigger club favouritism that people think helps say Leeds and Wigan too?
I remember that Wakey fans were up in arms earlier in the season about a KFC incident and the way that was dealt with by the RFL so I'll be interested to hear what they think in particular - is Long's book just part of a wider pattern of Saints "getting away with it"?'"

Interesting quote from Long:

Except that it's not simply an opinion. It's an allegation made against other players, by someone who was clearly in a position to know.
At the end of the day, this a stunt pulled by Long to sell more books, but it's a stunt that shows a healthy disrespect for the game, which, given that he hoped to be involved in it for another two years, suggests a level of idiocy that I didn't think even Sean Long was capable of. |

Ah! It appears that the protection offered by being a Saints player may no longer be available to Long, now that he is about to become a Hull player!
He may well rue the day he decided to leave KR but not for footballing reasons.... 
If he is punished severely for this latest issue it will add fuel to the fire. Saints fans can cry conspiracy theory all they want but we all know that RL politics do exist, it is a strange and murky world at times and if Long is seen to be being dealt with more firmly now than previously then it will provide more evidence of pro-Saints bias at RFL headquarters.... |

Lol, however no difference to what many said about Mo's "influence" over the RFL.
However should it not be what pictures does Richard Lewis have in his bag, to keep his job. Or can i not say that?
I just never understand why players write books when they are still playing, he could have said all this in 2 years and whilst everyone may have thought he was a fool, there was nothing the RFL could do about it. |
