Maybe they were joking around? After all both did come through Wigan's academy together (I think!). I often square upto fellow rival amateur players on a night out, messing around of course and it is taken light-heartedly all the time.

On a serious note, I heard the fighting wasn't between Saints/Wigan player's but between two Wigan and Wigan player's
