The forearm that Barrie Mac did on Paul Sironen at Central park in 1992 (i think) was on a par with Mick Cassidy's "effort" on Adrian Morley, however Barrie never even got penalised for it

The attack on Sam's head was diabolical, and intent was there.

The problem is that Sam will have much more of this in the game, unless the match officials get a grip. The ozzies in particular, will try to rough him up.
