39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

For instance,
The whole obstruction rule really needs to be looked at,as it is scaring teams from having dummy runners and the refs are ruling out perfectly good tries.
Why do they have to go to the video ref for evey decision?
What do the linesmen actually do apart from come onto the pitch when it is televised just to get their face on camera as they rarely do it when it isn't televised?
The refs seem to be on a timer to give penalties, when the game is in full flow and there hasn't been a penalty for a while the slightest thing and there is a penalty.
There also seems to be a lot of diving going on when the opposition team is playing the ball, the slightest touch from the defence the opposition player dives and gets a penalty, we don't want this in our game and its up to the refs to stop giving penalties for this and tell the players to get on with it.
The referees lack simple common sense and a basic understanding of the game, Mr Cummins needs to sort it out.
Rant Over!
I am no good with words, but if I was that is exactly how I would of put it great post.

20333_1393344959.gif Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_20333.gif |

Due to the refs giving obstruction for perfectly good tries, players are deliberately running into the oppositon player to con the ref or because of the stupid decisions made by the refs this provides a benchmark for what the obstruction rule means threfore fans with a good knowledge of the game are calling for obstruction and players are giving themselves up for obstruction when in fact there was nothing wrong with it.
Perfect example for this was yesterday when Coley ran throughin front of Leuluai and Leuluai gave himself up and the ref gave obstruction................ even though Coley had gone through and affected no opposition player.
It needs to be addressed!!!!!!!!!!!!

Exactly...why he was ever appointed was a baffeling decision. The worst referee for a decade and he gets the top job. It would be akin to giving mathers the GB defencive coach job when he stops playing. Can you imagine the gulf of difference in refereeing standards there would be now if smith would have taken this job rather than cummings?!!?

| Can't agree more with this topic!! Thought the ref yesterday was poor, left both teams lie on far too long which meant it had to turn into a forwrds battle as both defences were set. Did you hear him say after the Hock incident for the try 'The video ref is there so we should use him'. So does this mean that refs change their style of reffing wheter they are on tv or not????
Also I know that Russell Smith is doing a great job over in Oz teaching and training refs. Deffo a way forward to have him instead of Cummings.
Also has anyone noticed how quick the NRL has got since having two refs?? Think most of the Super League players would struggle to keep up.
