Noble has been at Wigan 3 years and youth development has gone backwards. Joel Tomkins was repesenting and starring for England in 2004. He was outstanding in a troubled Wigan era under Millward. He was then given no opportunities until Noble had no choice.

Noble should of taken a chance this season and not bothered signing Riddell or Roberts but signed a world class prop and a world class half back to teach Tomkins his trade.

We need to play our youngsters, they are the best in the league given the chance, you dont see teams filled with anyone elses players.

I disagree with this, in my opinion these two are not the problem signings because imo both these players add quality to the side. The two who should not have been re signed are Phelps and Mathers as they should be 3rd choice at best.

The biggest mistake was not to re-sign Dobson. Dobson and Sam Tomkins with Leuluai at hooker would have meant no need to sign Smith and Riddel. Phelps and Mathers were awful signings. Karl Pryce? Time will tell. Roberts shows great promise and look our best signing.

Can't see him ever getting fully fit again

He needs to do it. Nobody else can. At 20st he is simply too big.

Around play off time I agree but I would have to diagree for other times in the season

WE should have got Dobson as a priority , and kept colborn instead of Mathers and for much less, ok maybe not the best but great attitude and work rate always took the dirt ball in on his own 20.

Im not saying they are not quality but would bringing through our young players not be better in the long run?

We would be doing alot better now if we had a world class prop like big petro and a world class 6 like Barrett.

can you give me an example of another coach bringing more through the ranks without any injuries/suspensions being involved?

The fact is you need a bit of luck to get your chance as a young kid (unless you are exceptional, but not many of those come around every year). But sticking with them once they get their chance is a sign of trust and in my eyes means he has brought some young kids through.

That said, Noble does like he's tried and trusted players (Think Withers) but if a youngster proves his worth Noble is often loyal to them as well
