| I notice that our nutritional partners are the match day "sponsors" for fev.
Our commercial team need bloody sacking....no sponsors to speak of on the shirts and a list of partners who we then announce as "matchday" sponsors.
We need revenue streams other than Hughes...

Not really much more to say on this. On the face of it we have less (in terms of numbers and one supposes value) sponsors than last year and have not retained any (many?) sponsors from last year. So let’s hope lots of work is going on to ensure next season we get back to where we were. What it says about PL as a draw to corporate/sponsors also appears problematic but maybe it’s a blip. Let’s hope so.

I’m working on the basis we are moving to a more local base of sponsors- we just haven’t got there yet. Look out next year for Broncos as sponsored by Mercur Slots of Tooting Broadway and Fat Al’ Burgers Plough Lane.

Felt a bit thin on the ground in terms of outlets in the fan park yesterday. Couple of vendors missing, including the coffee business that is incidentally also one of our few shirt sponsors. Kind of odd for them not to be there for a home league fixture, unless they felt there was a better opportunity to make some cash elsewhere.

I saw it the other way around and noticed whilst they had a face painter bouncy castle and the pizza van, none seemed to be doing much/any business. Beer was selling well but I got the sense the Fev fans who were in attendance didn’t fancy £10 a pop for food and who can blame them. Also lower numbers of kids in attendance despite decent sized crowd. Buck and Dusty still doing their thing and I felt the interacted with the crowd as well as could be expected. The bottom line is getting our crowd size up, and up to the levels that make PL a justifiable expense, are really tricky and the shambles at the start of last season was really, really counterproductive and was always going to be if they had but allocated a moments thought to it. We are in desperate need of some strategic thinking or a big slice of luck. Perhaps a trip to Wembley in the 1895 might be a catalyst?

Despite being a tenner a pop the pizzas are pretty good.

Yup had one a few weeks back thought it was fine. Not a massive fan of pizzas but my son wanted one so I took the plunge as well.

| Is it a surprise that the club lack sponsors ? When they do get them, they fail to give much in return.
Hardly any mention on matchday. No programme to promote them in. So why would an organisation bother.
As an example Dacia came on board making a car available to the club, when we were at Ealing.
A bit of a mention on SM, when the car was handed over. Pictures of Dacia staff and Lobster, who incidentally looked like a tramp in those photos. That was it. I cannot think any effort was made to promote Dacia. The car that was loaned was often left, quite dirty.in the car park,
Why would they bother renewing the deal? Yet much could have been done to give the sponsor some value for their investment.
But then this is the Broncos ! I am probably wrong to expect anything else.

What has been lacking at the club since we lost Chris Warren is EFFORT.
Hughes attitude has always been the if he pays for the team then it is THE FANS who are to blame for not turning up. The list of half ar5ed efforts and pointless rebrand is quite substantial, but your example is perfect.
DACIA provide the club with a car. No offers is made to make any PR out of it, when simple things like keeping it clean, displaying it on matchday, inviting DACIA to maybe be a matchday sponsor and run competitions.....all this stuff costs nothing other than EFFORT and alas, Hughes has a track record of interviewing and employing the wrong people before letting them steal a wage from him whilst he denies any wrongdoing.
Sigh.
22 years of posting pretty much the same stuff. I follow the Broncos and only have a any interest in RL because of them, but I will say it again, David Hughes should be cited for crimes against RL.
As for lobster? An accountant and avid Hockey fan, he really has stolen a living now for a decade.....initially employed to count beans, he's now employed to count beans as well as run the club, but he's still just counting beans [all of which come from hughes].

| I remember that car. It was a good one. Often wondered who took it home. I was too naive to realise the answer was no one. Probably had to be towed away because no one had put petrol in. On the plus side the team sheet for Fev showed that most players had personal sponsors and the nutrition providers appeared to step to one side to allow a fan group from somewhere esoteric that escapes me now to sponsor the match. So it is happening, which is astonishing really, it’s just very, very low profile. As Orange says a little effort would go a long way. COVID and then the debacle of the 2021 season have really cut the legs from under our corporate/ sponsorship function. We had a quite a few sponsors last year but the fact none have returned tells a story about what they got out of it. One of PLs selling points was allegedly the step up in corporate facilities so if that is true we need to be getting the most out of it. Decamping for months on end doesn’t help much and having a side that wins more than loses was surely a no brainier. At least we are competitive but it’s not quite the same thing. I have come to the view that we really believed that we could get loads of high quality players to come down to London on PT and that our antics would encourage those already on the books to stay. I can only assume our relative success with sponsors for 2022 was based on that and the reality of the situation is why we are where we are now. Be interesting to see how we approach 2024 when the new commercial manger will have had a full pre season to do his thing. What we do about the 5k attendance target I don’t know.

It was "flannel" from Hughes, but he'll no doubt say "he tried" when in reality all he's done is hand a cheque over to either Blanchard, Gus or Lobster and say "run the club"
Blanchard had a bit of a clue but knew we needed more, whilst the other 2 couldn't believe their luck and whilst stealing a wage, destroyed everything.
The only way you'll see 5k at plough lane is if you start following AFC Wimbledon

| Hughes statement about 5k fans was his usual total bull. He was never going to back it up with the investment and effort required to actually grow such a crowd. All he has done is take us backwards.
