Sorry....but we're at home to Bradford you gimps
It's beyond a joke now. Hughes and his tin pot club are incapable of getting the basics right on and off the park...

| Talking of incompetence, does anyone have any insights into how we managed to lose so many of our young,non-heartland players? I’m thinking here of the players that have left London to play PT elsewhere like Davis, Meadows, Jones, Hodson. I get the ones who have gone to SL and Boafo to Newcastle but what’s going on? Hindmarsh and Walters appear to have fallen out of the game rather than play for us. Something can’t be right. Was the money no good or did they balk at a L1 coach? Were they annoyed that Ward and Langley went?

| What I find so incomprehensible, is how the club can set themselves up to relaunch at Wimbledon. Yet they go part time and put out on the pitch the worst team in the clubs history.
How did they ever think it was going to work ?

Maybe they thought if they deleted all the bad comments they could get away with it

| Do you remember being told lots of RL players were waiting for the opportunity to move to London and play part time?
I wonder whether recruitment proved harder than they anticipated - as forecast on the forum.

We all said this last year once the decision to go PT was made. Whats made this even worse is that now we have moved to Wimbledon, and paying through the nose for it, is that we are not actually making any use of the facilites (ie Fans Zone closed, no kids activities etc), so if the reason to move the wimbledon was better facilites, why then are they not using them? Bonkers

Yes I do. I assume it did by our Antipodeans (and Skolars) only recruitment. On the plus I’m confident that Aussies who want to play PT would make us their first choice as long as we remain Championship. It’s not what we were promised but......

All the reasonable criticism and anger coalesces around this point. I’m not throwing huge sums at the club nor am I a relaunch expert so I’m shooting my mouth off here but it seems to me there are several inter-connected pillars to a successful relaunch. Of course the ground is important and it looks of the standard but equally important is the product: that is playing squad and match day experience. The ground itself is only part of that as others have said it’s how it is used. Underpinning it all is things like recruitment, fitness and conditioning, marketing, presentation, customer service, advertising sales and merchandise. Hand on heart which of those pillars have Broncos really spent much time or money on?
Orange was critical of the advertising campaign but I thought it was a reasonable loss leader to raise awareness but sadly it has to keep going (at great expense that won’t immediately be returned).
My humble suggestion is a re relaunch at a more clement time of the year when we are playing sides we can compete with. The May games look doable I’d focus some advertising on highlighting them. Sadly of course we then don’t play at home until July so we lose momentum but it is what it is
They really do need to do some type of event in the Party Zone and have some kid friendly stuff. Why no scarves, badges, flags whatever on sale. Is a programme really that difficult I reckon they’d sell 500. Sadly we need to keep going with cheap tickets as it helps to get people in and at least the atmosphere is OK and improved on last year.
But my big point is this. All the money has been chucked down the drain if we don’t improve on the pitch. It’s not my money but it’s obvious what needs doing. If they are honest there is not much anyone can do about February weather but was that performance of a type that would attract one single person back. It may simply be smart to offer those who got community tickets or whatever back again for free-least worst option the York game.

It was a total and utter waste of time and money......£50,000 thrown down the drain. A 1st year Marketing Student wouldn't have made that error.....but your wrong about ROI.....it got rid of the Monkey

| Well amazingly they have done two things right in three days.
After signing Alex Walker (which was for once a really good signing), they are now going to start to sell merchandise (including replica tops) in the PL club shop, so people can buy on the day now.
Of course they needed to have this in the first game of the season, but at least they seem to finally be getting there.

| So. 3 home league games in as well as a home cup tie and 10 more to go.
2,182, 1,411 and 903 shows a worrying downward trajectory whilst the flow of information on social media is both "sporadic" as well as "slapshot" to put it kindly.
[uSOCIAL MEDIA:[/u
Very few people care. Of our alleged 26,500 Twitter followers about 50 liked our status after the game.
Of the supposed 11,500 Facebook followers, 27 liked our "it's game day" post before a number of snide imaginary links to false pages ambushed the page and have yet to be removed
Instagram? That's just a mess.
Pintrest? I typed in London Broncos and got pictures of the cowgirls at Griffin Park amongst other randoms.
[uATTENDANCE:[/u
Just short of 1,500 average with anything below 1,000 in this first year surely being deemed a failure? Very little thought given to the matchday experience and apparently still nobody at the club dealing with the marketing. Will they ever learn, or did a marketing person once reverse over Hughes's cat?
Bradford will maintain this average, but we really shouldn't be relying on away fans having a nosey at our new home to boost attendances. Marketing seems to be begging people on social media to come to games
[uGENERAL FEELING:[/u
From Hughes's bring a mate, it's up to the fans, to the blatant lies that wimbledon was perfect for us and the fallacy that Ealing wasn't good enough for Superleague so we went part time, this is a club with not very far left to plummet. I see Hughes never again funding us full time, I see relegation ad I see Loubser already polishing his CV.....
I can see the club folding before the start of the 2023 season, which is a shame, because I am sure Hughes didn't do it deliberately, but he has killed this club as sure as if he's put a bullet in its brain

Been saying this since I saw the decision to go part time and still move. I dont see London Broncos being around next year. I do think we will stay up but thats more as Workington and Dewsbury are weaker than us, than we being good enough, but as attendances dip below 1K for the games vs sides with less travelling fans Hughes is going to get more and more fedup, and at some point the dummy will be throw,
Dummy spitting could be as early as May if they lose the Dewsbury game

| The other aspect is what Dons think and when the break clause kicks in?
From memory the Dons Trust message to their members suggested they had been told to expect 3k this season. If gates don't step up, and a poor team, alienated fan base and a community outreach that seems to focus on a few Junior teams they already worked with suggests they won't, Dons may feel a little underwhelmed.
It'll be interesting to see if the two jobs recently advertised are filled...

| The London match report was surprisingly honest about the match, not pulling any punches. Refreshingly so after reading so many AFC Wimbledon versions this year. Possibly not the balance for the official website, but I like it.

Agreed. A preferable approach to simply ignoring the game. Like the picture as well with JC explaining to our players the direction they need to run in to score tries. This can only aid us in our search for a first win. One note of caution. We’ve all kind of accepted that Dewsbury are the other team we need to get ahead of to avoid relegation. They’ve been around a long time and may have other ideas. That Home game in May is already a must win.
