Hendo, having been pushed out at Warrington , has found a berth at Keighley Cougars as head of rugby.
He joins another former Bronco. Rhys Lovegrove, who coaches the Cougars.

And Brian McDermott is off to Featherstone Rovers.

Neither of these coaches has in depth knowledge of L1 so no use to us. A little surprising that Henderson didn’t get a higher profile post.

I was surprised too. I thought he might even have gone to Union.

The thing is....and I know I'll get screamed down for saying this, Mac really didn't achieve anything with us and again at Oldham he didn't managed to save them.

At Toronto he oversaw a Superleague side in a lower division and then lost all their SL games......he went to Leeds as a 2nd, got promoted early and it was only when the senior players at Leeds started doing their own thing, did the Rhinos do well......he's bang average in my opinion......I've nothing but respect for the man, but I could have coached that Leeds outfit to a few titles.....in superleague, I believe he has a sub 50% win ratio with Quins, Leeds and Toronto, whilst Tony Smith has a 62% win rate as does Brian Noble.

I really don't think he's the guy to guide Featherstone to Superleague.

I thought it became clear that Danny Ward was the better coach once Hendo had left. He was pretty media savvy though.

Definitely media savvy and I thought his stock was quite high. He parlayed a Champ head coach job into an Assistant coach job at one of the big hitters inSL. A logical next step would be Head coach at a lower end SL team or top end Champ team. Moving down to L1 into a nebulous role many find difficult to define seems a bit of a comedown. Then again it could be just what he wants.

Careers in sport are short (unless you're Wayne Bennett......then you started by riding a T-Rex to work and you're still at it a billion years later) and Hendo has probably decided that being paid to do what he loves without the weight of expectation that he would have experienced at Wire is just what he needs to ensure e gets paid week in week out without the hassle of it[u "being their year'[/u every bloody February

Apparently he’s done a bodyguard course along with Sammut which suggests the latter might be on the move north.

It was said a few days ago that Sammut was due to announce his new club, players will go where the money is! wonder if Hendo will ever be a coach in his own right?

Is that the club he's fixed up a gig as a Bouncer?

Last night it was reported, that Samutt told the social media source spreading a move, they are wrong?

This could be as close as we get to excitement next season.

Potentially good news. We desperately need some flair players. Let’s work on the basis he’s going to Cornwall though to avoid inevitable disappointment.
