Alex Walker has gone to Featherstone on loan until the end of the season.

Right on his doorstep so makes sense but I do wonder if we thought about bringing him in, or perhaps more importantly, whether we are thinking about getting him back for next year. Not sure he’s developed in his time in the North but might be a good fit for us if we don’t dawdle over recruitment.

So does Alex now have to get a part time job or are Fev a little more full time?

Always rated Alex highly, but he's never reached the same level in The North! would like to see him back!

Of those players that have left London for Wakey over the since we were relegated from SL. Only Jay Pitts has done well. The others have come up short. Alex being one. All the same they were decent players when they were with us.
Perhaps Wakey should take a good look at themselves. They are serial underperformers for a reason.

Do Wakefield develop any decent young players anyone know? If not maybe they shouldn't be in SL

I think Jay Pitts started off at Wakefield. They did not rejected him and let him go.

The buffalo farmer has done OK. The fans seem to like his energy.

Walker is a confidence player. He played well with his mates in London. Good under the high ball, chasing high kicks, reasonable returner of the ball etc. Not a tough defender, or straight line runner

Has done nothing at Wakey. He's to soft.

Eddie Battye last season was the darling of the Wakey fans. This season they claim he is not putting the effort in that he did previously. Some now say, they should not have signed him.

They have been granted an Elite Academy status for the next few years.
They do have some of their developed players in the first team,but one or two have sustained long term injuries.

Agree! he has never continued developing as he did with us around friends & mates as you say, not sure about being soft? little tough on him, never forget the match which gained us promotion in Toronto, he was not soft then.

It's true for most sports, players ofter look at the £ signs (which is understandable) rather than how, who & what got them to that position. Doesn't always work for the best long term. Particularly true of footballers at around 18. Wouldn't mind him back at all next season.

Alex is a bit like dixon, if he starts well he plays well. Dixon at Wembley, big game big occasion big stadium he was not as good as he could have been for York.
