| I am not sure that in these politically correct times The Cowgirls would be acceptable.
The thoughts have been to have Street Dance type of dance troupe. We need some entertainment at half time, that is for sure.
Chris Warren I believe is back in Australia..

I was recently called a snowflake........those that have met me know that ain't true.....the cowgirls were not "objectified"...they really were part of the club and I believe would be a gateway (through dance projects as you mentioned) to getting more kids into the club........

| I am with you CMG as far as The Cowgirls go. What was good about them was that they were very professional.
As one who has been able to travel to a lot of away games. Some of the fare dished up in the Championship has been dreadful. In truth it is embarrassing and is really not worth putting on.
If we are to have dancers they have to be to a good standard.

| Or you could have the schoolkids do it as a dance troop. Who remembers the Harlequin Hearts (I think they was called) who followed the Cowgirls

| And that picture explains why in today’s PC UK the cowgirls coming back is highly unlikely.

| I think having a cheer squad is a luxury and the cowgirls as they were is passe and out of step with the culture. If it were a dance squad/cheer group to the level of American college football etc. that's a different story.

| Also, agree on Chris Warren - he was a great announcer that really made it feel like a family experience and he knew his rugby league.

| A few of the Harlequins hearts ended up at Crystal Palace football club who ended up starting a proper dance troupe who are still going strong auditioning every year for new dancers. They girls now end up doing other sports as well i.e NFL at Wembley and Twickenham as a proper business.
They are not sleazy and the little kids boys and girls love them as well as the men. They go around doing community events and some of their videos on Youtube have had millions of hits.Ideal for marketing.

Not without some rlcontroversyrl by the looks of things.
Perhaps, going down this road would be an easy way of generating publicity for the club !!

That article has used photos that are about 4 years old and there outfits are not as revealing as the white outfits but if you read the article is says that they do charitable things and the kids love them at games.
They are not the Mana girls in the other link but do similar things. ie wembley and that.

He wasn't so hot on his cricket though!
I remember him at Griffin Park gloating on the PA about the Aussies winning a Test match in (?) 2005 in the Ashes series - a couple of months later it was Flintoff's Ashes!
And BTW about that photo of the girls - could have done with a 'not safe for work notice on that one!'
Cheers!
