Agreed. He really stepped up a gear today. A bit of a contrast to some Brits, who are great at club level but never replicate it on the international stage.

Why re sign him? He had very little impact why would it change? He has shown he has the ability just decided not to apply it when he was with us!!!

Actually unlike some on this forum I don’t think he had as bad a season as others think and, like lots of Southern Island players I think it takes time to adjust? I doubt he was on a massive salary and another year would not have been a big risk. We may have seen the best of him in year 2

Brian, possibly, but time to settle or not generally, apart from maybe a couple of outings he lacked effort, so the choice take the risk that his second year he would have settled or he continued in the same vein and didn't put in the effort on the park.
He did put in work off the park, he was only player that stuck around for the london junior league finals but that does little to get us the points we need in games.

He was also responsible for probably the shortest non injury related shift I've ever seen v Oldham away. His first shift was short. He came back on in the second half. Committed a stupid foul straight in front, eminently kickable, almost immediately, was taken off and didn't return to the field.

We were getting battered by the Oldham pack and nearly lost that game. If we had I think you'd have had to look at the fact we'd benched our biggest prop seemingly on disciplinary grounds as a contributing factor. I doubt the other props that day were too impressed by their increased workload either.
