| Do not ever let anybody have a go at the London Broncos home support. Yesterday the crowd was rather generously reported as 319.
Speaking to some Sheffield supporters after the game, they stated that for most fans thirty odd miles is too far to travel. Oh, how my heart bleeds for them,
poor souls!
To be fair to their club they do run a coach, but that was not full. And The Beaumont Awful Stadium is not that welcoming.
With no ground for next season, Sheffield Eagles hopes for the future, riding on the coat tails of a green energy plant that the council seem to want no part of. It is hard to see that they have a future.

| Does it not worry you that a club with no future, that was thrown together 3 weeks before the season kicked off, took a full time professional side apart at some pitch 30 miles from home.

It worries me!
We're clearly not as good as we were last season - I thought on paper we looked a bit weaker on paper but was hoping to be proved wrong. Don't think I have.
Going to need a BIG improvement against TO.

Which is more embarrassing, 319 for a scratch team that has struggled massively this year and is near the foot of the table playing 25 miles from their own city, or 650 (officially, estimated at 350-400 by a couple of people on this forum) the week before for a full-time team that made the middle 8s last year and has top-2 ambitions again this year?

| This was a real coach killer. Broncos clearly the better side on defence and offence, Eagles could only make 30m in a set of six Broncos more like 70m. Sadly a set of 6 was a rarity in this game. Lots of errors. The refereeing I think was unbiased but a bit strange, it seemed to go in waves of 'perhaps I should stop laying on at the play of the ball for a bit', or 'perhaps the passing is getting wayward I will give some forward passes for a bit'. In the end the kicking was probably the difference, Sheffield made 35m with every penalty (or took the 2), Broncos more like 15m. Sheffield also got all their conversions which meant we got too far behind.
I'm embarrassed to give some schoolboy coaching advice, but if you are not able to pass the ball to the right across the line without a handling error try passing it left. I'm sure Rhys Williams would enjoy touching the ball on the left wing at least a couple of times a game too!
Not sure I have ever seen Keith Senior beaming so much, he obviously enjoyed his early Easter pressie from the Broncos.

| The inability to use the wingers this year has been frustrating to say the least. In the 9 competition games this season there have only been 6 tries by the wingmen. Rhys Williams has always played right wing and scored just twice, playing in every game. Dixon, Kear & Sammut have played left wing scoring just 4 tries between them, Dixon with two. Purtell seems to blank Dixon in particular, rarely giving him possession, while Hellewell is slightly better at getting the ball to Rhys, but dropped balls seem to be our biggest enemy almost every time in getting the ball out to the fringes. If we can hold onto the damn thing we'll stand a better chance at beating Fev away next Sunday.
RE: travel, I was talking to some of the player's wives/partners etc about travel arrangements and most agreed the 'day-trip' up in the club coach was never ideal for their 'men' as they often felt 'cramped & tired' after all those motorway miles.

| Maybe we are struggling to get the ball across the line because the forwards are getting beat and defences are set and coming up at speed.
