| Looks like our first game away against Oldham will be played at Bower Fold, Stalybridge. Oldham are waiting or RFL approval but it appears it will not be a problem.
Its good to know. Can make some plans now.

| Does not look like a bad little ground
Not looked into how easy to get to but as I always drive it's not really a problem.
Obviously can't see playing surface condition but can't see any reason why rfl would say no

| As you say looks good . If Ealing and Sheffields grounds got the nod, then Stalybrdge should be OK.

| With Ealing, Sheffield and Oldham the game is hardly moving in the right direction with regards to the quality of grounds

| Actually apart from its location I think Oldham is an improvement on there actual home, in fact that's why they have had to play there. Sheffield at least they are going to be playing in Sheffield, with us wrong direction facilities wise, it's a shame the playing surface is not in a decent stadium.
Apart from maybe tge top 8 clubs the game is generally is struggling when there is any professional involvement. But I think it's true of most sports in the uk

| I am planning a rare away trip. Going up norf on a solo outing for a few days inbetween jobs. Off to a gig in Leeds on Sunday night and the logistics work ok with this game.
Is it confirmed for Stalybridge on 7th Feb at 3pm? Oldham don't have a working website at the moment.

| I am reliably informed that we play Oldham at 3pm on 7th Feb at Stalybridge.
I understand also that trains are replaced by buses on that day through Stalybridge. If you plan to use public transport.

Bower Fold Stalybridge is a big improvement on Whitebank. The only issue for Roughyeds fans is that it's outside Oldham but for visiting fans that ain't a negative!

| Hmm, might have a game myself up at Wigan st judes on the sat, might make a visit to staylebridge on Sunday more appealing.
Looking forward to the season actually getting going, give us some rugby league to actually talk about

So we're hoping for a postponement then?

cartoons/WB24.gif Life is pretty simple: You do stuff. Most fails. Some works. You do more of what works.:cartoons/WB24.gif |

| Don't think anyone is suggesting a postponement, think bostwick was just saying after what appeared to be a game very much effected by the conditions it might have been good for us for it to have been a dry week make it less of a slog around in the mud, not sure what staylebridge ground us like.
You would hope that a run out in a quagmire this week might have at least given Hendo something to think about and work on for Sunday.
When it boils down to it, dewsbury game was a friendly, in reality result is irrelevant, what happens next Sunday is important
