| No surprise there...
The club received a request from Josh Cordoba to be released from his contract ahead of the Leigh game, which the club granted. Cordoba has left the club with immediate effect.
Liam Foran has also left the club by mutual consent as he was keen to move back to Australia with his partner.
It was agreed by both parties that this was the best decision for the club moving forward.
Interim head coach Andrew Henderson is currently looking at the transfer market to bring in the best replacements for these players to add to the existing squad.
The club will make no further comment on either player.'"

| So we've lost the second rower who went back north and now 2 Aussies. Add to that the injury to the captain, the long term injury to the half back..........it doesn't leave much.
Not forgetting the coach has handed his kit in. We are only a few games into the season. Our strength was supposed to be full time training since Oct! Hmmm
What a shambles, and to add to that a DR relationship with the weakest and poorest team in SL. You couldn't make it up.

| it does rather beg the question: what do we say to antipodean players when we are signing them? "You'll love it: Edgware is just like Manly!" ?
I work with a number of Australians and Kiwis. They all love it here. One of them has already said he doesn't want to go home. Why can't we sign *those* kinds of people?
What were they expecting? Glamour? Money? Groupies?

| Neither of them is new to the U.K. They must have visited London, though maybe were not too seduced by the delights of Harrow. So living here can't have come as a great shock. I've spent two periods in my life living and working abroad. Some things I liked, some I didn't, but you just have to get on with it, there are always plenty of positives.
Perhaps we're now signing Mummy's boy Aussies who have the same mindset of some of our signings from 'oop north. Problem here is that the filtering mechanism would have centred on a coach who was about to do a runner himself.
As an aside, I cannot understand why he signed Foran, there seems to be nodody with a good word to say about his abilities.

That's an understatement.
I am amazed that nobody thought to question any of Grima's signings at the time.
Wasn't one of them retired and the other had already failed at various levels including SL?
With all the knowledgeable types on here, you'd have thought at least one of them would have questioned these guys being signed by their "good mate" Joey.
Still, at least we still have a team to support.....let's be thankful for that.

| Actually I think people did question them, but I guess at the time we were just delighted to still have a club, I think most, certainly ME, were sooo busy celebrating the good news he could have signed Daffy Duck and I would have merely said "he's got funny feet, but lets see what he can do". It's later on, you realise a cartoon character can't play rugby!!

The dual reg arrangement was never a true agreement, hence Wakey also setting up a dual reg agreement with Featherstone. It was a way of your former coach being able to bring in his mate from Malta Jarrod Sammut in immediately. Wakey wouldn't agree a loan because of the non recall within 28 days rule. We have no real cover in the halves or hooker so we needed to be able to call him back quickly if need be and Fev didn't need him at the time. Joey wanted him so the loophole was used. As it happens Pita Godinet is now likely injured for a few weeks so Jarrod will be back up here for the forseeable future.

However, we still have a REAL dual reg agreement with Skolars which will enable us to tap into an almost unlimited pool of rich talent.
