I know I am a bit premature but I just had a question/wondered peoples thought. If as expected we do occupy one of the bottom two places come the end of the season and start next year in tier 2 what do expect the squad to look like??
Do we expect to keep hold of most of the players we have (if we want to) or can we expect another mass exodus followed by an off season scratching around for players. Finance wise I would guess we are no where near the cap limit so we must be able to afford to keep most of the guys (with the new sky funding).

Now now don't be negative, broncos are play off bound in September.

How many overseas players are we allowed in the championship? Year 1 is the only real chance of getting back up so we will need mr Hughes to be decisive come october

If we got into the play of game next year we would still need to beat a Full time strong SL team to get back into SL. That would be some achievement. Im not sure we could hold onto the present overseas players if we went down and it would be difficult to attract quality new ones to play in the Championship.

Which is why P & R is so bad for the international game. The threat of going down brings in overseas players and limits the growth of our kids.

Back in November I'd have been thrilled if you told me we'd finish 14th.


Think I've spotted a problem already.

C1:4:2 Each Club shall be entitled to register only the Quota of "Overseas Players" in all squads set out below in each season save for those Clubs which are granted an exemption in such form as the Board shall decide:
Maximum Number of Overseas Players
Super League Clubs:5
Championship Clubs:1
Championship 1 Clubs:2

Although, obviously, quotas might change with SL2 and the salary cap going up. Plus there's the 'the Board can decide whatever it flipping wants' point

You'd imagine the likes of Krasniqi, Cook, Dollapi, McMeeken would attract interest from lower placed SL clubs.

And that will always be the problem for a London team not in SL; any promising players we do turn up will be picked off by SL teams and, unlike the northern village teams, we don't have the option of picking up SL rejects from neighbouring clubs to build a team.
