40 working days to get the ground buzzing....
2,618 is the Average for the visit of the Reds, 4,495 was the best in 1997, 1,517 bothered for the return of the broncos in 2012.
10 Schools within 3 square miles, 10 bars too. God know how many thousands of people use the tube stations local to the ground.
This is it guys and gals.....last orders at the last chance saloon so let's hope that sticking posts in the ground and announcing a KO time is not what they have planned for us!

Made 6 games last year.....it's not cheap but hopefully we'll get a team here in Wellington soon!
Thing with Tomkins is where we play him. FB is a worry for me....he's not great under the bomb. Do we run him at Stand off? He is on a major chunk of our cap and I hope he deliverers on the park and the fans flock to see him.  |

Such a great player. He's going to have a tricky time to compete with Kevin Locke orFisiiahi.Think they will bulk him up in the strength and conditioning department like they have done with Shaun Johnson and will be able bring even greater elements to his game including the bomb.
Yeh, 1 RL team to follow must be long.Maybe in the future. Though the Hurricanes ain't a bad thing to watch in the mean time. The Savea brothers, TJ Perenara, Conrad Smith,Andre Taylor are mean as aye.

Have to admit that I haven't been to a canes or lions game since I arrived. Caught the AB's a couple of times and even had a box for the Kiwis v England encounter as well as Bocca (sic) juniors v the phoenix, but I have no interest in that supposed top tier level of club/rep rugby.
Prefer to catch petone panthers or Petone RFC during the seasons......much more fun (and cheaper ale!!) |

1,766 is the lowest ever first home game attendance (Crusaders 2011).
The lowest NEW VENUE attendance opening game was back at the Valley in Y2K, when 2,856 TURNED UP.
Let's hope that we get a decent crowd and the team are competitive. The offer to Barnet FC fans should add a few to the gate......let's see if we can convert a few of them!
