1649_1338292262.jpg I have followed the LONDON CLUB since I was in my teensl even though born in St Helens and still live nearby and went to the first game at Fulham, also Big West Ham Supporter:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_1649.jpg |

| They should have done the same with The Championship Finals! 4,200 at Halifax, when Blackpool produced 8K & 9K, the RFL CEO is taking the game backwards, total incompetency!
We hear Championship Clubs have agreed in meeting with Woods, they back his idea, not sure the Bribe to increase their handout annually to £200,000 from it's current pittance, the clubs were conned! only Sheffield Eagles had the guts to Vote No! knowing it is not best long term!

| Apparently the RFL have issued a press release in response stating a certain CEO agreed back on 26 June to the semi being held at Leigh if this was the draw.

| The comment from the RFL sounds interesting!!! be nice to hear back from the club on that one.
Ok so the RFL move the fixture, hope they do that will give us all summat to whinge about! All those folk that have bought train tickets would get all wound up.
Come on lets be honest and face the facts! HOW MANY FANS would we take never mind where it was played!
So why not play it somewhere that would increase the crowd.
A lot of the Wigan faithful will probably not even bother with this game anyhow as they will see it as a walk over so why reduce the crowd numbers even less.
Don't forget the gate is split 50/50 so the more bums on seats the better.
Was Charnley injured in the saints game?? we can live in hope.
LMS showing that London can produce the goods was good in that game

To be fair itvdoesnt say CEO but management, however it is a disgrace, but no surprise.

| So the club were 'fine' about the Leigh venue. As they don't talk to us, they would have no way of knowing what are views were. It is easier just to ignore their customers. It would be right in this instance to say

| Does anybody really think that the Broncos were given a say in the venue? Irrespective of what Gus did or didn't say, the RFL had already decided to play the game in a suburb of Wigan because of a suitably-sized (they hope) ground which (they hope) will look and sound good on TV.
Look at their list of criteria. Anybody spot a significant one that's missing? | I have emailed the club asking who it was who gave their full support to the choice of venue.

I sent this 8 days via the contact page of the website.
Quote: Paddock Punter "Why has the club agreed to play the CC semi-final at Wigan?
Utterly ridiculous. Why don't the club stand up for its supporters and players?
Shameful from both the RFL and from the Broncos by going along with this.
'"
No reply yet received.
EDIT: Yes, I have changed my tune a bit since sending the above, realising now that the whole thing was an RFL stitch-up. However, I still think that, as a long-standing ST holder, I'm entitled to a reply.
I did get a reply, albeit an unsatisfactory one, from the RFL.

| Today many of the RL journos are all worked up that BBC Radio 4 stated, the next major sports event is The Commonwealth Games next year! Do we expect anything different with Red Hall and Nigel?
The staging of The Championship Finals played at Halifax, was that a back hander for Nigel's old club, what did he do for them? 4,200! was disgusting, when Blackpool in previous years attracted 8K & 9K, people made a weekend of the day for them.
The list of errors being made with the game, just go on and on, and there is nothing being done! Club's seem to be happy to allow it to happen, but then clubs he is close to will protect him and his second in command Ralph.
BroncOnion you got more than I did from the RFL! I presume it was just destroyed, they do not like Truth!

| The club know the fans have nothing better to spend their hard earned cash on than to go to Widnes one week and Leigh the next. Or it could be that as there are expenses paid trips for certain members of staff it's not a problem to them.

Not sure if there's any truth to the rumour that Gus was looking at buying a new house in Gillingham but he was gazumped? Just trying to figure out why he went cold on Gillingham Broncos given he doesn't care about the fans....
