| err hold on, he's resigned from Cas because he's not convinced they're willing to do what it takes to stay in Super League. How could the same accusation not be levelled at us?!

No he didn't, Cas already had nearly that number of season ticket holders, he just copied the Wakefield model and converted them to members for the benefit of franchise.
It would take a bit more original thinking than that to get you out of the hole.
I know Steve personally and his real strength is in sorting the playing side of clubs due to his connections in the game - he's also good with sponsors but that is all northern based - I think his admin capabilities are average.
What you need is a Peter Deakin type and they are so so rare.

| He would be good for London IMO but he has his own business so I doubt he would want to travel down south
and leave it.

| We had about 2,600 last year and have increased to 3,700 for 2013 on the back of a very disapointing 2012. Agree with Vastman - I don't think he is the type of CEO you are looking for. You need someone with more marketing expertise, someone who can work miracles.

| I do feel for Gus. Appointed to a role he was patently not qualified to carryout, he has stumbled from farce to fiasco citing stupid reasoning for his major decisions.
Exhibit A. The choice of Shirt was based...and I quote him directly...as "something I could see myself wearing down the pub" .....so we got a black or light blue T-shirt.
Exhibit B. "The name Harlequins Rugby League was causing confusion as to what game we played"....sorry gus, but the second and third words of our name wereprettyself explanitory.
There many others, such as getting his mates company to manufacturer replica kit of questionable quality.......failing for 47 games to find a shirt sponsor, trying to charge ST holders 40 quid for a 2 course meal whilst offering it to away fans with a premium ticket and a programme, Hiring a PR person as his marketing manager from a contanct at Cricket, telling me directly that "she knows her stuff" then firing her 3 months later....only for her to be appointed to a role she is qualified to do by our landlords. The list goes on.....

David Hughes - The Gerald Ratner of Rugby League? Discuss. Or not as the case may be.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_66844.jpg |

| Wasn't the point of the Harlequins RL moniker that it was a prelude to full merger with Harlequins RU?
Once that was off the table there wasn't much point in continuing with it.
I'd agree that the rebrand has been a total disaster though.
