David Hughes - The Gerald Ratner of Rugby League? Discuss. Or not as the case may be.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_66844.jpg |

| If the posters on here are a representative sample re Gillingham David Hughes has just lost circa 900 paying customers.
Deduct them from the 4,000 Hull crowd & he's still looking at Stoop level attendances.
Maybe it is time to get in the tea boy from Saracens to teach this shower a few tricks about business ...

| How do you know this site is a true reflection of those who went to the Hull game? If the rumour is true I will be able to get to home games in a matter of minutes rather than having a 150 mile round trip to the Stoop, some will benefit some will lose. It would however have made more sense to stay in one location rather than moving around which looks to be once more on the agenda.

More like dozens (if that) will benefit and most will lose.
Away crowds will also suffer as no one in their right mind will want to visit a town that makes Widnes look classy more than once.
If David Hughes wants to close the club and cut his losses he should just do it.
This slow death by a thousand cuts is tortuous & inhumane.

Fully agree with what you say! why people have to get so emotive is beyond me, the club should never have released information to anyone before they were willing to tell all the fans, players and staff should have been told just prior to the announcement not weeks in advance.

Cos they care perhaps?
I never really got behind Harlequins RL as a concept but I was prepared to give the Broncos re-brand a chance.
But it appears that less than 12 months in the club is already cutting and running.
I'm sorry but that's <expletive deleted>wittery of the highest order.

| Enjoy yourselves in 2013. If they do move to Gillingham there'll be a vacancy for somebody to video Under 20s (to be the under 19s), Under 18s, Under 16s & Under 15s. I'm not prepared to add on the cost of a 150 mile round trip to what I already spend on cameras/laptops/DVD burners/DVD copying machine/blank DVDs allied to when I video a curtain raiser I'm lucky to have finished by half time of the 1st team game. Already costs me more than a ticket to see half a game for free so once cost of travelling 150 miles per game is added on.
Anybody interested can message me & make an offer for the kit they'll need to video games.

| Parking at the ground is non existent with the locals asking you not to park on their road.

| You're quite right Jilli the parking in the side streets around the ground is all resident permit only and the nearest car park would probably be the station car park so that would make it difficult for those that drive to the game. I don't know what to think about all of this as I live only 15 miles down from Gillingham in Sittingbourne. On average for a home game at the Stoop it takes me 2 hours door to door on top of a week's commuting up and down to the City. Having said that I like the Stoop and I like my seat in the West Stand. I would have been quite happy to go back to Brentford if we have to move.
