| Missed / half hearted tackles, lack of composure under the high ball, inexplicable passes, no line breaks ..........
The only negative for me (other than the very quiet tannoy) from Saturday was the continued underperfomance of this man.
Once a special finisher, now either playing out of position or just lost it.

One game....
But he looked a step slower at the HAC too so maybe there are some lingering issues.
But if you judge a player on one bad game, and everyone is entitle to a shocker, then Billy Slater would never have played again after losing the WC

Thats a fair call, BUT its not just one game. This was precisely the sort of poor performance that he was dishing up regularly last season. Nothing has changed.
If he has to play, I would rather see a tactic that involves Robertson dropping to full back and Dorn to the wing in a defensive set.

PMSL at this. I don't think he had a bad season last year at all. Certainly not compared to Howell, or Kouparitsas, or other imports.
Let's give him a chance eh, he is usually one of our most consistent players. Jeez. And Lister and I get accused of being negative.

"That wasn't a kick, the was a pass with his foot!" Brian Noble making Andrew Voss lose sleep: |
|
| Dixon must be licking his lips because he is about to take dorns place!
Seriously it is far to early to be calling for anyone's head, it has only been 1 competitive game so far, if he constantly underperforms for the next few weeks we should change it about a bit.
Didnt o'callahan play at FB last year as well?
And for the record I didnt think dorn was bad last year, or at least not one of the worst

We must have been watching different players, I guess.
I wasnt setting out to compare him to Nick the Greek, etc, I am setting out to compare him to what I think a decent full back should be able to do. Offer composure, catch the ball, read the game and get into position to field kicks, run the ball back with purpose, make a decent fist at a tackle (he clearly doesnt like tackling).
I hope I am wrong about him.

| What does he add.....
A column on Sky Sports every so often bigging up the Broncos.
But yes, he is no doubt getting older and will lose pace...is he carrying a knock?
Be interesting to see how Kieren Dixon would go at FB....is he the future there?

1649_1338292262.jpg I have followed the LONDON CLUB since I was in my teensl even though born in St Helens and still live nearby and went to the first game at Fulham, also Big West Ham Supporter:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_1649.jpg |

| Come on it is one game! Wigan lost and Warrington could only manage a point, there must have been disappointments from some players there, but not I am sure making a crisis out of one match.

Dorny is not good on the high ball - will let it bounce if he can - poor in defence, and no he doesn't like tackling, all spelled out to us when he came back from Cas IIRC.
On the positive side he has an electric burst of speed and can get through a gap if we can create it.
As long as he can provide the tries the team will try to cover for his shortcomings as we don't have too many out and out try scorers. If he is carrying an injury he shouldn't be out there but if he has lost his pace then there really is no point in him being out there as he can offer nothing in attack or defence. You can't pick someone for sentimental reasons when there are fit young players out there waiting their chance. The other teams will soon suss him out and we will soon be getting hammered again. Lets hope it us just a knock

You dont need lightening pace to be an effective FB- just ask Wellens - He can read a game, knows where to position himself and has a history of scoring tries.
Errors compound errors cuz they get in your head - Carney for GB at QPR - doesn't make them a bad player and madness to drop one of the best players to wear our jersey over the past 8 years with a kid who has played once

| Wellings can tackle, is good under the high ball and plays for St Hellens who don't depend on him to score tries.
I wouldn't be in a hurry to play Edwards there just yet but there are other options for FB if it comes to it.

| Dorn had some very poor moments on Saturday.
Dorn remains an excellent fullback.

Excellent full backs = Slater, Hayne, Wellens, Tomkins, Locke, Hodgson, Greenshields, Boyd
Capable full backs = Webb, Mathers, Patten, Minichello, Briscoe
And then there is Luke Dorn.
