1649_1338292262.jpg I have followed the LONDON CLUB since I was in my teensl even though born in St Helens and still live nearby and went to the first game at Fulham, also Big West Ham Supporter:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_1649.jpg |
|
| What a sad sight to watch the game on the BBC when I returned home and see all those empty red seats at Leigh, also the real lack of atmosphere, though I was pleased that at last people respected Sam Tomkins, it was also superb the Welsh following when they scored
I was critical when it was decided to use Leigh, 12,000 capacity? but we can't even fill a ground of that size?
I really hope we can attract many more than 50,000 next weekend and prove those many Northern doubters wrong, every school in London should be offered free tickets organised groups lets fill Wembley!

| Good to see former Bronco Neil Budworth playing for Wales. I didn't think Wigan was in the principality!

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

The 2 blocks of empty seats in the west stand ( facing the cameras ) were RFL designated sponsors seats , they didn't turn up , so unable to be purchased , maybe the RFL will consider this next time , they did similar in the NRC final , overall not bad considering the opposition , and disgruntled Championship fans like myself , who won't pay the RFL £ 10 to watch a match 2 miles away from my home

| £10 for a international match is a bargain. If people up north cannot be bothered to travel 2 miles to watch our national team the game is in dire trouble.

I don't give the RFL anything I don't have to , so I don't watch International RL anymore , same applies to SL teams , I follow Championship RL and the amateur game only

2 miles? By "up north" do you mean Watford?

You are pretty confusing mate, so you are not interested in going to watch international rugby league because you think it is just lining the pockets of the RFL
so without the RFL would tour championship team be in existence?
Not having a go, just seems odd, a simple answer would be I cant be Ar%*d to go watch an international
assuming you are a leigh fan, would you still follow them if they had got a SL franchise or would you change yr team on the same basis that you did not want to watch England Wales.
FWIW seems a bit odd that the empty seats were RFL sponsor seats that were not filled, SL dictated which stands we had open down at the stoop because they thought it would look better on TV

All they have actually agreed to do is make the cheque out to HMRC rather than Leigh Centurions
I must be honest and say i wouldn't sign that cheque until i was sure i was going to get it back.

I don't like the way the RFL treat Championship clubs , or the way they administer the Championship competitions , if Leigh got into SL , then yes I would still support them , but I disagree with franchising
As for the seats , defiantly RFL sponsored seats , they were not for sale

They aren't getting it back John , it's next seasons ' central funding ' , it's just being given directly , because the HMRC don't trust sports clubs anymore to stick to payment plans

I am sure you agree it does not look good for an International Match on National TV to show so many empty seats? why do the RFL not think? and those sponsors seats sadly empty would be counted as sold and the game can't sell 12,000 tickets, that is a Fact however some people may see it as zzzzzzzzzzzz! LOL
You average TV viewer is not going to see it as the opposition not being attractive as it has been sold as England v Wales Four Nations match and they will compare to the union game. I have said it before I would rather a certain amount of tickets be given away to organised parties such as school's if they will commit to attend rather than empty seats.
