Might aswell not bother with an in goal touchie for this fixture.
Cant attend as working and the thought of Hicks officiating
and Mac emerging victorious is softening the blow of my non attendance.

I really don't understand this hatred towards McDermott. He might not have guided us to magnificent results but he was clearly passionate about Rugby League in the South and wanted it to be a success.

I certainly dont hate Mac. I can even remember a gloroius home win against the Rhinos a few years back
What a rareity under Mac A home win. I appreciate he had the best intentions down here but we have hardly missed him
have we. Thats not to say RP has been a roaring success but he has had less to work with than his former mentor. |

'Cause he started this downward spiral at the club and is responsible for the rut we've been in for the past three years. Whilst he gets rewarded with a job at a bigger club, we get rewarded with another rubbish season playing dour Rugby.  |

I think you could take it one further and look who appointed Brian Mac, and who took over another club in 2007. The rot did not start the day Mac took over, it started the day we lost half of our financial backing. We played some interesting stuff in the Brian Mac years, but increasingly lesser players on increasingly smaller wages has resulted in weak, weak gates and the bottoming out which has been 2011; and three new good quality Aussies, rather than Dwayne Barker's, Mat Gardner's or Kyle Bibbs.
Brian Mac was and is not a great coach, and equally he is not the worst in the league, but as others have stated with Powell; what were the realistic expectations. LMS and Will Sharp were complimentary about the coach, only leaving for competitive clubs who are more rounded sporting organisations.
Did Mac push the club into a downward spiral; no, but he was unable to hold the tide.
