| Not a bad side. Do you not think he will play O'C on the wing- He appeared to use Pryce sparingly against Leigh whereas O'C seemed to play the whole game.
No place for Melling
I'm with you regarding a prop- Worryingly this is usually a strength area for the French

| I think O'Callaghan and Melling will both start on the wings, the squad is what I would like to see picked.
IF Pryce is fit that is, apparently he's not up to the fitness levels of the others

| I doubt Calderwood will be in the 17 for fitness reasons.

| I also agree about being one prop short. We were lightweight in the pack last season and the Leigh fans thought we looked short in this area again in last Sunday's friendly. It is a shame as our starting backs, and also back-row, don't look too bad at all.

| Agree with everyone about a prop short. what happened about this rumour about a forward from Wire we meant to be linked with, thats all gone quiet.
Have to admit i watched the friendly against Leigh on blip.tv and was inpressed with their forward called Chris Hill, looked a handful. Also I know Dave Mills wasnt eveyone's cup of tea here at Quins, but cant see any reason why we couldnt have given him a years contract,he liked it here in London and even for his mistakes he still took some putting down and ran at the line hard.
As for Pryce. If he had been doing any pre-season with Wigan it sure didnt show from what Leigh fans said about him.(and what little i saw of him on blip). He also said in an article in code13 that he will have to get use to the calls and the players names, which to me was pointless playing him against Leigh. We should have stuck with one of our young guys if that was the case.
As for Wingers for the Catalans game, nice to be able to have a choice for a change and that they all fit. so could be any from Jamie C to Jack Latus with Pryce, Melling and Calderwood (whos got to be fitter then Pryce) in between.
Agree if he's fit with Mellor on the bench, gives us options at HB and Hooker with Ellis and Randall switching around when Mellor of the bench.

| Given how fit Wigan have been under Mcguire it makes you wonder how Pryce isnt match fit after a pre season-disappointing

| He wasnt misheard as I was talking one to one with him and he said Pryce & Mellor from the Pies, Tony Smith sending 2 down this week (2 weeks ago!!) and looking at a possible prop- Pretty much the conversation-Im still hopeful

Sounds good if happens then. Pehaps Tony Smith was waiting until he had got his pre-season games out the way and see who he wanted to keep about or if they picked up any injuries in them friendlies before decideing who to send out on loan.
Looking at our squad now and with the loaners/young players we have i cant see any where apart from props where we are short. So if this move is still on, then someone like Mike Cooper will do.
Although someone will no doubt tell me im worng and we need "X" amount of players all over the place..

| I'm tipping Quins to spring a few suprised this season. That backline looks pretty dangerous and the starting pack is good enough to hold it's own.
If Quins need another prop down the line I could see another loan deal coming off with Wigan. We have 2 in O'Carroll and Ben Davies that need games and as soon as both are fit I could see them being sent out on season long deals somewhere. They're both very fine players and O'Carroll is quite experienced now after being around our first team squad for 4 or 5 years.
