| Danny Sculthorpe has been released by the Bulls as he probably won't be fit for the start of the season...however, always thought he had some bite in him...worth a shout by Quins as a front rower for the new season?? Admit he has some injury issues at present, but could turn into a good signing if we got him long term.

| A good offloading prop. Always liked him myself. How come he has been released at the start of the season, is he not on contract? Would improve the team when he plays. Gets a few tries as well IIRC

His contract did not extend into the 2011 SL and so Bradford had decided not to renew. He was on around £40,000 a year at Wakey so if we have that available I guess we could be interested. I get the feeling that Daniel Heckenberg, Richard Villasanti and others have left the club looking at less injury-prone players.

| fair points...would also rather a "fit now" prop...just thought he'd do a job "when" fit.
By long term...I meant 5/6 months down the line (latter part of the season when we'll no doubt be crippled with injuries).

| Although I do not mind taking a punt on players, Sculthorpes record with injuries is quite incredible. Swerve it for me.

| Wouldn't touch him with a barge poll. Lazy player and always injured. Will take his bat and ball home if things don't go his way.

| Is the problem not that we already have one prop who will not be fit for the start of the season in Temata ?
I saw Vilisanti play once for Quins Academy, just remembered that. Almost forget he ever signed

| Liked the way he was playing a couple of years ago, after he'd matured a bit, but too injury-prone for me. Are the Bulls so overburdened with class props that they'd let him go if they thought he'd be fully fit part way through the season? Don't think so.

| Do we need another season with a player drawing a wage but unable to play.

| Decent player. Depends on his fitness, but if he is fit I suspect we wouldnt sign him. We seem to shy away from players of proven SL quality. Crusaders can have them all and we can get by with what we've got again. And finish in the bottom 4.

| I might sign him on a pay per play, which I can't see him going for, but not more - too injured and too many clubs.

Wrong on both counts. He was contracted to Bradford next season but they have come to an agreement about the last year of his contract. And he was on about 80k a year at Wakey.
Only would be worth the risk to any club on a pay as you play deal.

Only going on what a Bradford fan stated, seemed odd that Sculthorpe contract ran through to Jan 2011 rather than November (2011) as most contracts do. On the wages I was going totally off memory, and I thought he was docked two weeks wages for having a few beers.
Both facts make me certain that he is not a player worth taking any further interest in.
